Hi. I made a reservation at 7:30 and delayed 8:00 . I've excused them on time. I've asked the window side table and I had to wait 30 minutes....that's was my first impression.... Still decent interiors and young vibe also very clean set up. First I've ordered edamame and salmon truffle burrata carpaccio and scallop carpaccio. Scallop was very fresh and made it quite Japanese discrete dish. And the salmon burrata was me and my love's favorite. Both we super love burrata and Iki's pickled cherry tomatoes were little kick. And the arugulas were finishing the umami!! Good job on this... Crispy rice with tuna, the crispness from the outside of the rice and inside tenderness was legit! And chopped tuna was fresh enough to enjoy. But I recommend not to use spicy Mayo, I'm a master chef in French Italian and Japanese... Sp Mayo killed the savory tuna taste...
And the sashimi, lil disappointed with the presentation but over all fresh fish and the quality nothing special tho.
And the hand rolls... Salmon truffle was seared on top and kept the great taste of it.however the blue crab hand roll was a bit bland, needed to put some crunch to change the texture....
I was gonna put 3 stars because of the waiting and the poor interaction with servers. Still my love asked me to leave 4 stars so raised up cuz she enjoyed it and we were happy with salmon Burrata and the quality of the fish..also the bus boy was very polite and took care of my empty pods of edamame time to time!!! Gracias Senor!!
Please boost up the server skills and more staffs please....
Read moreThis is one of more unique dining experiences in Los Angeles, and I'm torn to even share it. Their Omakase changes often, bringing seasonal options to keep things interesting on repeat visits. Their broth and dry noodles are all quite special; the dry noodles in particular will really surprise you with the flavor combinations. If you're lucky they might even offer Squid Ink noodles that are, by far, my favorite! However, like other dishes, squid ink noodles will only be available if they find the quality ingredients from the market. All their Nigiris and Sashimi are of exceptional quality, including the more luxurious Wagyu A5 Nigiri that I will, on occasion, indulge in when I want to feel special and worth it! The service has always been a great, always positive and most importantly proud of what they serve as if they cooked the food themselves. I've found that even the most exclusive places don't get that right here in Los Angeles. The only negative, and really just to nit pick, I personally don't like the high ceilings that will amplify the people's bustling. This can sometimes make it hard to hold conversations without raising your voice. This is true for many establishments out there, but I'm confident that most of you will be too busy enjoying the amazing food to even notice. Lastly, the bill will be expensive but by no means unreasonable for the consistent quality of the...
Read moreDisgraceful Behavior at IKI RAMEN in Hollywood — Will Never Return
I was dining in at IKI RAMEN in Hollywood when I witnessed something truly disappointing. Several delivery drivers were waiting outside in the designated area for a long time, even though the restaurant was nearly empty — just myself and one other guest. Despite this, the staff made zero effort to check on the drivers or bring out their orders.
One male driver politely came inside to ask about his order and was immediately told to leave and wait outside. Not long after, a female driver who had clearly been waiting a while entered as well. She was met with the same dismissive attitude. When she pointed out that the restaurant was empty and asked to use the restroom while waiting for her orders, the waiter refused and said, “Only for paying customers.” She rightly responded, “I’m actually representing two paying customers.” And she was absolutely right.
Watching this blatant disrespect toward people working hard to fulfill food orders was infuriating. These drivers are the backbone of food delivery — they deserve courtesy, not cold indifference.
As for the food? Completely forgettable. I’ve had far better Japanese food elsewhere. After witnessing how they treat people, I’ll never eat at IKI RAMEN again. And I encourage others to think twice before supporting a business that shows this kind of disregard for basic...
