This is the perfect example of restaurant hospitality with street food vibes and simple delicious quality ingredients. I went to the one on Virgil next to the Vons by Children’s Hospital right by Silverlake & Hollywood border. My experience was really uneventful and that’s exactly how really good quality food should be. The cooks are polite. They keep their head down do their job. They have just the right amount of extras and seating space there’s a constant smell of delicious barbecue. Oh… and very reasonable low prices. Everything on their menu is amazing. My go-to’s are Al pastor & carne asada tacos, mulitas, and quesadillas. They are generous with their portions and the meat is so flavorful. One of the best al pastor I’ve had- a unique style heavy on the achiote flavour, making it taste almost like char siu and complemented by pineapple that they grill. Their cabeza is super unctuous with a nice bite and pairs well with lime and salsa verde. Solid suadero as well, tender and nice porky umami. $2/taco, and comes with grilled onions and jalapeño if you like. Very nice folks working the trompo and griddle to boot....
