Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Louisiana

I am an employee of this location and I must say that it is my favorite job thus far. Greg Smith most definitely picked a wonderful staff, the working environment is extremely positive and it's been this way since we opened back in February! Every employee of Shipley Donuts at Essen wants this best for its customers and business. Aside from the staff , before working here I had never had Shipley Donuts ever and it is now my favorite Do-Nut shop, the recipes are 👌... not too sweet , not too bland, literally just the right balance of flavors. I haven't gotten around to try everything but as of now my favorite donuts are the strawberry iced and the buttermilk glazed cake ( which i recently tried warm and its sooo good). I am a huge fan of the Jalapeno& Cheese Boudin Kolache as well. The only thing that I wish was a bit better is the coffee selection , Im not a fan of any of the iced coffees but many people seem like them also alot of elderly customers would prefer decaf coffee which we...

As far as donut shops go, this one is just perfect! I've been here several times already and the staff are always smiling and are very friendly - which is quite refreshing and not what I'm used to at fast food restaurants. There are so many different donuts (and other food items) to pick from and they all look amazing - you will likely want to try everything! They allow call-ahead ordering if you need a special order and you're either afraid they won't have them first thing in the morning or you just need a LOT of donuts for the office or for a party, etc. Donuts here are always fresh and fluffy. As far as flavor and texture, they are almost like a cross between Krispy-Kreme and Mary Lee. The coffee here is also always fresh, hot and delicious! I should be giving this place 5-stars for their donuts but honestly it's their friendly, smiling staff that helps me assign this 5-star rating. Great...

THERE IS NO WAY YOU SHOULD OWN AND OPERATE A DONUT SHOP IF YOU CAN’T PROVIDE FRESH DONUTS NOT EVEN AN HOUR AFTER OPENING. I gave this place a try TWICE between 5:30am-6:15am and the donuts were ice cold (not even warm) both times! I called and spoke to the owner after my first visit and he said this wasn’t a normal practice but they were training a lot of new people and the employee may have grabbed donuts from the wrong rack. He offered to give me a free donut but I told him no worries! I’d patronize them again. Today the donuts were ice cold again! When I told the cashier they were cold, she apologized and assured me they were fresh even tho they were cold. The other employee complained and said it would be a while before they could have hot ones ready. The cashier offered to microwave them for me, but i declined and returned the food. DON’T WASTE...
