My recent visit to Newk's was nothing short of a nightmare. Unfortunately, what started as an ordinary lunch outing turned into a dreadful experience of food poisoning. While I must acknowledge the helpfulness of the manager, Tatum, the overall quality and safety of the food left much to be desired.
Let's begin with the positive aspect of my ordeal—the manager, Tatum. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Tatum displayed exceptional customer service skills and a willingness to assist. They listened attentively to my complaints, expressed genuine concern, and promptly took action to address the issue. Tatum's professionalism and helpfulness were commendable, and they deserve recognition for their efforts in handling the situation.
Regrettably, I cannot extend the same appreciation to the food served at Newk's. I opted for what seemed like a delectable sandwich choice, only to find myself consuming a ticking time bomb of foodborne illness. The taste was peculiar, almost rancid, and it didn't take long for my body to react unfavorably.
Within hours, I found myself in the throes of severe food poisoning symptoms. Unrelenting stomach cramps, persistent nausea, and a never-ending cycle of vomiting plagued me for days. The impact on my health was significant, and the overall experience was nothing short of harrowing.
In addition to the distressing food poisoning incident, I couldn't help but notice the lack of cleanliness and hygiene at Newk's. The overall cleanliness of the establishment left much to be desired. It is alarming to think that such negligence towards sanitation and hygiene can persist in a food-serving establishment.
While I appreciate Tatum's assistance, I am disappointed that the same level of concern and professionalism was not displayed by the rest of the staff. Their dismissive attitude and apparent disregard for the severity of the situation only intensified my frustration and disappointment.
Given my unfortunate encounter with food poisoning and the unsatisfactory cleanliness standards, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Newk's to fellow diners. It is imperative for any establishment to prioritize food safety and hygiene, as well as maintain consistent quality control. I urge potential customers to exercise caution and consider alternative options where their health and satisfaction...

Ordered via Uber Eats. Was shorted half of our order, about $50 worth of food. Driver stated Newks staff verified order was complete and handed it to him. Received our order at 7pm, when Newks closes for the day. Called Newks and left a message on a 1980s answering machine and asked for a return call. Never received a call back. Went online and completed a dissatisfaction survey and Newks generic corporate response was that they were sorry and would share this feedback with the restaurant. Maybe the worst combo of service/response I’ve ever experienced from a business. Won’t be back. Will tell anyone that will listen not to eat there. Considering filing a dispute with cc company for the charge.

Read moreHighly disappointed...ordered 2 sandwiches, 2 soups, and 2 drinks...total waste of $32. Sandwiches were nothing like the menu pictures...not even close to resemblance. The Q sandwich lacked flavor probably because there was no white sauce and very little chicken...pretty much a flat overtoasted bread with cheese. The Italian sandwich was flat as well and the overpowering dressing that was used made it much worse. The 6 cheese Mac with pimento and bacon...not as good as Sam's Club. And lastly, potato soup...I mean potato broth. Don't see Newk's Eatery lasting long here in Lubbock, TX...not sure what the hype is about this new restaurant...to say the least it was forgettable, overpriced, and less...
