Papa V Pizza — Restaurant in Lubbock

10/22/2024: Since I can't post a new review I just wanted to say thank you to Jerry and this establishment for making our barbeque pizza the way that we like it. I was reluctant because we haven't been there in a few months. Since Papa V's is literealy walking distance from my house and it was the perfect weather I still wasn't able to make it there. Also wasn't sure if you guys would remember me and my two sons. But I coudldn't ask for a tastier and well put together pizza. I'm also very happy that door dash delivered our pizza to the right address. That was my biggest concern.

After seeing so many awesome reviews my family and I decided to see what the food was like at this establishment. I ordered the taco caliente pizza. We also ordered the meat combination, bruschetta, house chicken salad that the owner fixed himself, cannolis, and fries! I haven't even tried the pizza yet. I could not get past the bruschetta. But by the way my boys dove into the pizza I knew it was perfection. The crust was just how we liked it and not overcooked, the sizing, and portions went way past my expectations. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff and service was welcoming and friendly. So if you're looking for a new place that blows pizza hut and dominoes out of the water, stop by papa v's. You...

My daughter wife & I tried Papa V’s for the 1st time today… my wife & I really enjoyed it… our daughter not too much. We shared a large pizza pie & mozzarella sticks I got a meatball sub, my wife got a house salad & my daughter got the fettuccine with chicken. 1.) Pizza, absolutely delicious!!! The crust is so good! Fresh toppings and just all around tasty and perfect. 2.) Meatball sub sandwich, it was amazing!!! So delicious!!! The bread light fluffy and crispy, meatballs are the best I’ve tried then topped off with melted mozzarella! It was soooo good!!!!! 3.) house salad with Greek dressing (wife’s) she said there was too much lettuce and not enough toppings, she said it was still good, she got Greek dressing to go with it which she did like.4.) Mozzarella sticks were ok, I’d expect better from an Italian restaurant… but they we’re still ok. 5.) Fettuccine with chicken, this is what our daughter ordered and she did not like it, she said it tasted like fettuccine sauce you’d buy at Walmart and the chicken was chewy. We were there last month around 8:30pm on a Friday night. There were around 10 people already seated when we arrived. We ordered two calzones, 1 meaty and 1 traditional. After ordering and taking our seats, I noticed that the menu stated $8 & $10 but we were charged $8.28 & $10.35. I understand some restaurants have added extra fees recently but I couldn't find anything online or the printed menu that addressed the extra charge. After waiting about 10 minutes, the meaty calzone was delivered to our table. It was odd that the 2 calzones were not dropped off at the same time but we assumed the traditional would be there shortly. After my husband was almost done eating, a staff member was checking on another table when I was able to get their attention. She said they would bring a calzone quickly. Just about 3 minutes later, she dropped off a traditional calzone. It was still cold in the middle and the cheese was still in visible shreds, not melted. Now, a man that indicated he was the owner's son came by and took the calzone back to the oven. It came back completely burnt on the bottom. We were not as upset about the food as we were how it was all handled by employees. No one ever...
