TL;DR: perfect level of sweetness. Milk tea sizes are smaller and not listed on menu*. Add Crystal Boba to fruity drinks. Brown Sugar Boba on small side.
What a cute little bubble tea joint! Love the cat logo and love the plants.
Parking: small shared lot next to a busy street. The exterior and surrounding buildings don't look very new but the interior is nice.
Atmosphere: chill and with neat plants. Only two small tables but a wonderful plant wall and a neat wallpaper on the opposite wall -- perfect for bubble tea paparazzi. See Exhibit A (a.k.a. my photos).
Menu: Posted above the register. Self explanatory with brief descriptions and steps for ordering custom teas. You can substitute whole milk with Oatly! if you wish. *Note: Creme Brulee Pearl Latte, Brown Sugar Pearl Latte, and Hong Kong Milk Tea drinks only come in the shorter size cups -- which is not listed on the menu.
Service: order and pay at the register, you will be given a number, pick up to the right of counter.
Mango Matcha Latte: Ok. I admit I got this purely for the photo op, haha. I was surprised to see the barista hand mixing the matcha in a bowl with a whisk while it was being made. It's the good stuff! After you're done playing paparazzi, you're supposed to shake it really well before drinking. I was surprised at how smooth it went down once it was all mixed. The flavor was a perfect blend of sweetness, matcha, and mango tang. None of the ingredients overpowered the others in this one. My taste buds were hit with sweetened matcha, creamy milk, followed by a hint of mango tang with each sip. The mango bits here and there were also a plus. Overall, perfectly balanced drink and I didn't feel like I was drinking liquified sugar (like some other bubble tea joints).
Creme Brulee Pearl Latte: oh that top layer is rich but good. No wonder they give you less of it to drink...haha! Once it's all mixed, it is a very lovely creme brulee flavored milk that is not to sweet at all. Something I could sip (but shouldn't) all day.
Brown Sugar Boba: a bit on the smaller side in the topping world and a little on the chewy side but you can still taste the brown sugar.
Crystal Boba: more of a texture addition rather than a flavor addition to your drink. It might be slightly sweetened but the drink definitely overpowers the flavor. Get this only if you want to add texture to your drink and something to chew on. Not as chewy as the brown sugar boba but more satisfying to eat in my opinion. Would go good with a...
Read moreTobi's Tea is a hidden gem in the Lynnwood area that we stumbled upon while waiting in line at Alderwood mall. It's conveniently located nearby, making it a perfect spot for a refreshing boba break while shopping. Parking is a breeze with plenty of free spots available right in front of the shop.
Despite its small size and limited seating, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Most customers opt for takeout, so it never feels too crowded. The menu offers a range of options, including recommended drinks and a build-your-own choice, allowing for customization of tea type, sugar level, toppings, and milk preference.
I particularly enjoyed the hot boba with dark roasted oolong tea and salted cheese crema, while my girlfriend tried the famous Ube Latte with boba. Both drinks were well-crafted and flavorful, with the ube latte impressing us with its use of real purple yam instead of artificial flavoring.
Although the wait for our drinks was a bit longer than expected, the quality of the beverages made it worth it. The oolong tea had a rich tea flavor that complemented the creamy crema perfectly, and the ube latte was a delightful surprise with its authentic taste.
My only minor disappointment was the lack of a less-ice option, as I generally prefer warmer beverages. Nevertheless, Tobi's Tea has quickly become our go-to spot in the Lynnwood area, and we plan to visit more frequently in the future. If you're in the area and craving some top-notch boba, I highly recommend giving...
Read moreI was in WA visiting from Cali so I wasn't sure what to expect with the boba tea in a different state. Me being a sweet tooth, I was surprised how much I loved all the drinks at Tobi's Tea. It's definitely a more tea-focused shop so it's good to come in expecting less sugary and syrup-based drinks. All of the drinks were crafted well and perfectly, in my opinion. There are a variety of options and despite not having blended/smoothie choices, the Watermelon Lychee Refresher, Passionfruit & Pineapple Teas are perfect choices for the summer. If you want a more sweet option, the Creme Brulee, Brown Sugar Latte, Strawberry & Mango Matcha are the way to go. (Their matcha is the best I've had. Not bitter like most places I've tried) For a stronger tea, I suggest the Hong Kong Milk Tea to get an extra kick for the day. The shop is a smaller facility so it's a great, stop-and-go place + they offer DoorDash & Uber Eats if it's out of the way for you to drive. The aesthetic of the shop is super cute with a real plant wall and wallpaper on the opposite side + it's very clean and modern. Staff is wonderful and helpful with explaining and making suggestions based on your preferences as well. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Tobi's Tea and love their drinks. I recommend if you ever go to the...
