The Native American Museum is the perfect addition to your trip to Mackinac. We got coffee and came straight here upon a rainy arrival to the island. So much knowledge, culture, and important history. I’m thankful for this museum and the context/enrichment it gave to my visit to the island. It made me more aware of all of the sights I saw as I biked the island later in the day. Exhibit includes native voices from past and present, regarding Mackinac and this part of Michigan. I thoroughly enjoyed the 3d projections of residents and natives from the Island giving their statements about the Sacredness of Mackinac and the surrounding Islands.
Their understandings about the history and sacredness of the Island explained much of what we felt when we spent 3 nights and 4 days on Mackinac Island.

This place feels more indigenous-informed than probably any of the other Mackinac State Historic Parks sites, for which I am grateful.
