The server was very nice upon arrival. We were asked by more than two different servers if we wanted drinks. The inside of the restaurant was clean and the seats were comfortable. We ordered sushi and the seafood boil Comb A. It was a decent amount of food. We tried our best to finish, but took a few shrimps, mussels, crab legs, and roll in a to go box. The seasoning for our boil was pretty good too, as we ordered medium garlic butter.
Our waters were refilled without us having to flag down the server. She was attentive and made sure that we enjoyed our visit. I honestly liked that they give you plastic gloves and a plastic bib to wear when eating the seafood boil. Comb A came with one decent size claw crab legs, a bunch of shrimp (w/ or w/out head), a bunch of mussels (or you could choose crawfish), two small corns, some red potatoes and rice. Their was a good amount of meat on the crab legs even though it was not a bigger one. You can choose the option of ordering the bigger legs, but we had enough food with the Comb A. The shrimps are huge in size. I was expecting small store quality size shrimp, but not at this joint. And the mussels were yummy and seasoned just right.
The rolls tasted yummy and fresh. Since it was our first visit we decided to play it safe and get typical sushi rolls (Shrimp Tempura & Tiger Dragon rolls). I can't comment on their beverages as I don't like to drink anything other than water when I'm eating a big meal. The price of the rolls wasn't bad either. Pretty typical pricing ($5.50 & up) for 5-8 rolls. I will definitely return to this establishment...
Read moreMy boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner at 8 pm on Friday, the last day of Restaurant Week. Sadly, the reservation he had made for such a busy night we lost, however the hostess was able to find us a table.
We decided to order from the prix fixe menu. We both went with the $25 options and started with the oyster shots, which were light, fresh, well seasoned, topped with Tobiko, and presented in lovely white amuse-bouche spoons on a matching platter. (Oyster Shots 3 shots with oyster, tobiko and ponzu sauce)
For our entrĂŠe, I chose Lobster Tempura Roll (lobster tempura, avocado, cucumber, eel sauce and spicy mayo sauce).
He selected Seafood Feast (½ snow crab, ½ shrimp boiled or fried with choice of sauce on the side or drawn butter)
Desert, sadly, went through a few permutations as it was the end of a very busy day in the last day of Restaurant Week. We had both ordered the Salted Caramel Mousse Cake, however they ran out of it during our meal. They also ran out of an alternate that he was offered (cheesecake) during our meal, so he settled on the Mochi ice cream (mango and beautifully presented, though not on the prix fixĂŠ menu), while I ordered the fried Oreos. Both desserts we delicious, though not what we had hoped to try.
Overall, the staff were polite, kind, well spoken, alert, and quick footed, even after an extremely busy day during a packed and fast paced week. The restaurant was clean and bright with comfortable tables and booths. I look forward to going again to try...
Read moreThis. Place. Is. Amazing. I would've taken a picture of my meal, but I had already devoured half of it before that occurred to me.
As someone who has never been to Louisiana, I can't comment on the authenticity of their Cajun style food, but I can tell you that everything tasted phenomenal! I ordered the lemon pepper snow crab with potatoes and it was like nothing I've ever tasted before. They placed my crab legs (and your choice of add-ons) in a bag filled with butter, garlic, and seasoning goodness. Everything in the bag is then boiled, causing the crab and whatever else you put in the bag to cook in the wonderful buttery concoction. When you are served your food you are given the tied bag with all your food in it, and you then get to open your magical food pouch. The crab was juicy and infused with the buttery sauce, for once actually allowing a person to get the shear quantity of butter actually required to eat crab meat. I seriously can't rave about this place enough. I will warn you though, despite the fact that they give you a bib and gloves, you get super messy. Bring an old sweater to wear and prepare to have your mind blown by the fact that Madison, Wisconsin actually has a good sea food restaurant.
Also, their blue crab, dungeness crab, and lobster are brought in live so they are...
