Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Manchester Township

By far my favorite sweet treat location when I'm in York visiting my parents. Never had a bad experience and I've been to multiple locations. Only complaint is that it depends on who's working as to which cup is "large". I have had a couple employees give me a smaller cup than what I get 90% of the time. When I get the smaller cup, the price magically raises a little over $1. I haven't figured out if this is an employee issue or the company maximizing profit during peak hours 🤔. Thought I would see what this is all about when I was driving past. Asked about flavors that did not have any high fructose corn syrup in them and one of the kids at the register recommended their dragon fruit flavored icy. I was eyeballing the Gelatis, so I asked if they could make my dragon fruit icy "Gelati" style. Even on a cool day, the dessert was just what I wanted. The icy was refreshing and not too sweet. Friendly staff and I love how they have a sign posted at the ordering windows about how much of their staff is new and to be patient with them. The general public often needs reminding that everyone has been new to a job at some point and won't always be perfect.
