Asian Yummy — Restaurant in Manchester Township

Did I order the only bad thing on the menu? I ordered delivery based off all the great reviews online. When my steak hibachi got here, I suffered immediate disappointment. It looked like cubed shoe leather heavily tossed in sauce with a side of soggy vegetables. However, I paid $15 for this meal (not including delivery and tip) and by Thor's hammer, I was going to love it. The plastic fork that came with my meal broke immediately upon impact when I tried to stab the meat into my mouth. Not to be deterred, I got a stronger utensil and made another go of it. It was almost unedible but it gave my jaw a great workout. So silver lining, if I could work thru a whole plate of it, I would have Clark Kent's jawline. I wanted to sacrifice the plate to the trash gods, however, it being $15, I tried to pawn it off on one of my kids. Listen, don't judge me- this kid is tough. She eats anything. Literally anything. She would eat a dog biscuit if I let her. I acted like this was the best food ever and hopefully pushed it towards my last and only hope of salvaging this dinner. Sadly, the dog biscuits apparently are more appetizing than the food I bought. I can't blame her though. I asked my husband if his meal was any better (chicken and shrimp hibachi) and he replied it was the worst take out he's ever had. Let's be honest, in York, Pa that's really hard to do. Now I have to figure out how to deflect the blame back onto my husband or he's going to vote to revoke my restaurant picking privileges. Maybe the other food is good. Maybe it was a fluke. Me and my wife visited recently for the first time in years. We used to go alot when it was china kitchen. We were impressed with the large menu selection. This place is very clean and service was friendly. They do not have table service for dine in you order at the counter and your food is brought out in the take out boxes. The temperature in the dining room was very warm and humid. You can feel the heat coming out of the kitchen. I was disappointed they do not offer free tap water instead we bought canned soda at 2 dollars a can which was not very cold. My shrimp basket was great crispy shrimp shoestring fries really yummy. My sushi was not good at all. The spicy tuna roll tasted like canned tuna and looked sloppy. My nigiri slices were cut sloppily and lacked any flavor good or bad. I'll give them the sushi rice tasted like legitimate sushi rice good job on that. The pickled ginger is very salty and the wasabi is just got with no flavor. My wife got vegetable hibachi the veggies were just basic and cut into huge pieces. The carrots tasted canned. Her fried rice was inedible no veggies in the rice and it smelled really weird sort of like cigarette smoke but not really. Definitely off and not pleasant. Our salads were basic iceberg salads but fresh and a great size. The miso soups we had were excellent. The food was ok but not anything really impressive. My husband and I really enjoy Asian Yummy. When we want Chinese, this is our go to. Their Pork Lo mein is the best I have ever had! The General Tso is actually Crispy!! Not soggy!! That is a rare find around here. Their chicken wings are terrific (and I am very picky when it comes to chicken wings). Egg rolls are hot, crispy and tasty. We have also been to their lunch buffet. Which I was quite impressed with. For starters, the food was bright, FRESH and delicious. They have some unique items on the buffet that are totally worth checking out. The buffet area was clean and orderly. The owner(s) are so nice! They welcome you when you arrive, engage in conversation if they have time, wish you well when you leave. The restaurant itself is very simple but CLEAN!! So many Chinese take out places here are so dirty. I am a restaurant owner myself and I cringe at the other Chinese take outs around here.
