*This is an update. The owners of this location took my review to heart and updated their food handling protocols. The person handling the cash register only handled money or handled already wrapped food. When those handling food used an already used cloth to wipe down surfaces they did change out their gloves before moving on to the next food order. Please keep up the improved safety and handling improvements . The bad news first - of the 3 employees working at this location I observed 2 of them contaminating food by not following appropriate glove protocols. One was wearing gloves for 10 minutes touching at least six orders of food, the tomatoes, lettuce,etc. with her dirty gloved hands and money and the cash register and wiping surfaces with her gloved hands WITHOUT REMOVING OR CHANGING GLOVES!!!! The second employee decided that wiping his gloved hands down the front of his apron was an appropriate way to clean his hands before moving on to touch food. 😳 Thank goodness I requested that my roll be heated for my food and got a hot sub and that miss "wear my gloves all day" stepped away as my food was being finished up. It's a shame since the food was prepared hot and fresh but who cares if it comes with bacteria and chemicals. Good luck if you order here and don't get hot food, you could end up with the trots. Based on this I think all employees of rhis chain need to be trained in "appropriate and SAFE" food preparation. And that you "NEVER" wear gloves to collect money or touch the cash register and you should "NEVER" go back to touch food after you've contaminated gloves by touching something else. Read moreI have to share the moving experience I had when bringing my business to Jersey Mike’s Manchester CT branch. I live in NJ (birthplace of this amazing chain) and have a friend who lives in CT, who had brain surgery a few days ago. I wanted to send some food to the family while they are sorting through all other issues (follow up, home care, worry!) My friend LOVES Jersey Mikes so I thought to send a box of sandwiches to his house for he and his family who live in Somers, CT. The closest JM’s was 14 miles away in Manchester, and they don’t normally deliver. I spoke with the catering manager, Haley, who was very sweet and extremely sympathetic and helpful. She reached out to her branch manager Ken Schanke to see if they could somehow deliver the sandwiches. Ken offered to deliver the sandwiches himself!! If that is not what good customer service and great business practice is about, I don’t know what is. That is not even the most moving part. The staff went out and bought a get well card to attach to the delivery 😭😭 When Ken delivered the sandwiches there was a mix up and he waited for the family to return to the home to ensure the sandwiches remained cold and fresh in the car, rather than leave them on the porch as was suggested (by me lol bc they would be home shortly). He insisted that he did not mind waiting and even let me know when the delivery made it to the family. This experience made me believe in good American business practices again. Read moreUsually they are pretty nice but there is a manager who worked 6/3/25 at night, who was the rudest employee I’ve ever come across at this location. HE was upset because myself and 4 other customers came in at 8:40pm and proceeded to show his anger by rolling his eyes, slamming down the cold cuts on the counter and stating that he can’t wait to get out. I will like to be contacted by the GM and the owner due to his nasty attitude. His response was his GM Katherine scheduled him without extra staff. I informed Alexis that was on the grill that I did not want bacon due to my religious beliefs and he (the manager) proceeded to say it’s not going to contaminate your food while laughing with the customer behind me who requested bacon on his sandwich. If I file a lawsuit for not acknowledging what I asked for and discriminating against me I’m sure this would be taken seriously. I would like to be contacted by the OWNER -(These are franchises)and not the GM as she is the kindest most hardworking manager I’ve ever met and this has never happened while she was on shift. THIS IS BEYOND THE STORE LEVEL!!! . I was extremely embarrassed, disappointed, felt discriminated against and overall appalled by the attitude and actions of this manager. Kat knows who I am and it’s unfortunate that I will never come back to this jersey mikes again.
