I have been a Golden Bowl DIE HARD fan for many years. I’m SO heartbroken to be writing a bad review but I’m hoping the new owners see this and make improvements. The ownership has changed hands twice recently and it’s the most recent change that has truly ruined the place. I have been OBSESSED with the Spicy Beef Sate Pho (through both of the previous owners) I could eat it every day and never get sick of it. Ever since Kisaki bought it, it just sucks. This dish is mostly noodles, and they changed the noodles to some that are not as good, the broth is not even close to as flavorful, you can tell the beef is lower quality and is way too thick/chewy, the chop sticks are different and are too smooth so you can’t grip these noodles, also when you dine-in they give you disposable everything! That’s just insane to me. The other thing that bugs me is this is a Vietnamese restaurant and now it’s got a huge Chinese food menu. In my experience, that’s never a good sign. The menu was small and high quality before and now it’s huge and low quality. My husband was excited to try the Chinese food and he was super disappointed with that too. We’re SOOO sad. A new pho place is coming to town and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’s good. RIP...
Read morePro golden bowls a nice place to go to eat I believe it's right off elm Street in Manchester New Hampshire. We went in there cuz we had some time to kill before we went to out to feed the homeless with Harmony home ministries and we were hungry. So we found this place I thought it was Chinese but I guess it's Vietnamese. They had a lot of good food one thing I stuck out to me was the general Travis chicken so I tried that and they're pieces of chicken were like normal size like chicken fingers chicken tender strips I mean and they were absolutely fantastic I got pork fried rice on the side and I gave you a whole huge biggest thing I've ever seen of the thing. I was literally able to eat that night and eat lunch the next day no problem. It was a little pricey but I'm telling you it's definitely worth the amount of money. The staff there was greatly went in and it said dining room closed at 6:00 it was like 6:40 and they said you know what you guys can eat here so we ate inside and it was a really good experience. I recommend this place to anybody looking for this type of food in and around Manchester...
Read moreImitation Vietnamese food, sadly, and expensive. After reading positive reviews I was hopeful this would be a good spot for pho but it was disappointing. The cooks/staff are Chinese, not Vietnamese. When I asked for foods using their Vietnamese names I got a blank stare. They charged me full price for the "special" without telling me they were out of ingredients and served it to me without the tendon listed on the menu. When I pointed this out they simply said "we're out." No additions, no price adjustment. Regardless the food was clearly inauthentic. Very simple/salty broth, none of the spices a good Vietnamese pho is known for, tough and chewy meats, and when I asked for fresh chili peppers I was was told they don't use fresh peppers.
What was even more shocking was the price. They also ask for tip up front (which was given) but then have you clean your own tables (see photo).
If you're thinking of stopping for dinner on your way back from skiing, I'd recommend you keep driving another 30 minutes and find a good spot in MA. This is a faux-Vietnamise Chinese restaurant, unfortunately, and the food...
