Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Maple Grove

For starters, this location gets bonus stars in Food and Service! Took my daughter out for a birthday lunch to Bucca in Maple Grove. So glad I made that choice.

Allison was phenomenal. Brought our drinks and gave us plenty of time to sort through the menu. Ordered the Chicken Parm and Chicken Lemone' entrees, both superbly made, not to heavy on the parm and both cooked just right.

Had the soup of the day, tomato based, and was delicious. The free warm bread was a nice compliment, on its own with the peppered oil, and as a "dipper" for the delicious soup.

The soup was itself nice and creamy and spiced just right. We also shared the fettuccine alfredo and seasoned green beans on the side, which were both very well made, the beans were nice and crisp and not mushy or overdone.

While there was a very small delay in bringing out the mains (a very slight delay, and not long), Allison made sure our sodas stayed topped off and we were doing ok. Food came out shortly thereafter, nice and hot and delicious.

Speaking of Allison, what excellent service. Quick with a smile, friendly and engaging, she made the experience a memorable one. Offered great suggestions and recommendations, while letting us make up our own minds on what courses to choose.

Took accountability for the delay even though it was through no fault of her own (again, was very slight, so no real blame anywhere on anyone) and yet still provided extra desert on the house for the inconvenience.

Service like Allison's should be recognized and rewarded for providing an excellent customer experience, and making my daughter's birthday meal one to remember.

It should also be noted that this experience also included excellent preparation and cooking of the meal by back of the house staff, as well the friendly atmosphere provided by the rest of front of the house staff, as well as management checking in with us to ensure that we were satisfied with our meal and the service. This high level of service has unfortunately become more rare in recent years, but at Bucca de Peppo in Maple Grove, high caliber service seems to be the norm.

Price-wise the meals are very affordable and reasonable, in the 20 buck each range for lunch, and the portions are not skimpy. I highly recommend this establishment for lunch when your looking for delicious Italian fare, excellent service, at an affordable price.

First I would like to say I Love going here but last night could have been so much better. My cousin got married last night so we wanted to eat, so all 14 of us went to Bucca. We initially were pleased because they would give us a private Room. So they placed us in an area where by ourselves which was kind of nice. We got a sling for the baby's high chair so we put her car seat in it and we all got comfortable around the table. There was one server for all of us he tried to do his best but it Worley was a fail. The drinks will come out super slow, We ordered our food probably about 7 o'clock we didn't get it's almost 830 but keep in mind there was other groups around us that was getting their food and their drinks and their desserts much quicker than us. My baby is 5 months old she hadn't seen her grandmother and 2 months so her grandmother wanted to hold her finally when the food came might baby started to fall asleep and we were going to put her in that device that they had provided us but a waitress came and asked us if they could take that device because she said they had another couple with a baby and they were struggling to eat. I questioned her and I said but what about us I'm gonna need it for when my own food comes, so my baby can go in here. The waitress said well I feel bad because they can't eat their food and enjoy it it's their night out. I reluctantly gave up the sling which made a huge inconvenience for when my baby fell asleep in my mother in law's arms as you see in the picture I had asked the waitress if she could bring it back when they were done she never brought it back. The food was great the server was pleasant but it would have made more sense to have extra help because the drinks were coming fast enough, there wasn't enough napkins because we had little kids who kept spilling so he would take napkins from one side of the table and then given to the other side and then the other side was Iike those are my napkins. I would really really hate to think that we was just dumped back there because of the skin color but I sure can tell that it's never a good feeling because you see everyone else coming, ordering,eating,drinking. leaving then there was us. The whole table keep saying man it's taking for ever we have been for hours no food ( we didn't even get any of the bread/oil)or refills. Our waiter was nice, our food was good but I think had we stuck with Olive Garden it would have been a better experience.. I did give it 2 stars because the food was good I would prefer to give just 1 because I really feel like we didn't receive the...

I’ve eaten at this Buca many times and it’s always been great. I ate here last night to celebrate my birthday. The food was great but the service was horrendous which is what this rating is based on. There were only a few other groups dining in and it was not busy at all but it still took almost 2 HOURS from the time we were seated until the time we left. In the past we’ve been in and out in under an hour even when it was busier than last night. From what we saw, there were only 3 servers working, a hostess, and a couple others staff members. We indicated we were celebrating a birthday on the reservation and told the hostess yet it was never acknowledged by our waitress. In the past, they would ask if we were celebrating anything special, sing and give a birthday treat. They did not give any complimentary bread either and our server came to our table maybe four times within the almost 2 hours we were there. It was the slowest service I’ve ever experienced somewhere especially on such a quiet night. With good service, we would’ve easily been in and out in an hour. It took our waitress over 20 minutes from the time we asked for boxes and gave payment for her to run our card and bring everything back. She then blammed another worker for not bringing us boxes and we also noticed they kept dropping things on the ground and seemed to not be in communication with each other as they were bringing food to the wrong tables and also leaving tables dirty for over an hour and then blaming each other for not taking care of it. The people sitting near us seemed upset about the slow service as well and they complained to the waitress about their experience. It was an extremely disappointing birthday dinner and it’s sad to see how bad the service has become at a place that was once known for amazing customer service and a special place to celebrate life events. I will be going somewhere else for my birthday...
