TL;DR: got served spoiled milk and entrees were disgusting. Decor is dark and dirty. Egg rolls are fantastic!
Despite seeing a fair number of poor reviews, we wanted to give this a shot because we like Thai food.
First of all, I felt bad for the server. She was trying her hardest as the only server for a fair number of tables. She was very nice and understanding. It's not her fault the restaurant was understaffed, resulting in service being slow. That does not explain how slow the food was, though.
Secondly, Sue's Egg Rolls were amazing. Among the best we've had. The cheese wontons that came with my daughter's kid's meal were also very good and my wife loved her thai tea.
End of the pleasantness.
The restaurant is dreary, drab, and extremely outdated. It needs more lighting and a good coat of paint. There are scuff marks and dirt all over the walls. It just looks and feels dirty. The back hall to the bathroom has no lights at all. In the bathroom, the paper towel rolls are just sitting on the counter, soaking up all the water from people washing their hands.
My 4 year old daughter was served sour spoiled milk. She took one drink and informed us it was gross. It wasn't even borderline. We took the top off and could smell it immediately. Our server immediately fixed it with a different glass of milk that was not spoiled but the milk was served on ice, which is weird. But spoiled milk should never ever ever happen.
Then our food eventually arrived lukewarm. I ordered roasted duck and my wife got pad thai. The pad thai was extremely pale, like a corpse after being drained by a vampire. It just looked unappetizing. My wife took a bite and was disgusted. My duck was cooked to infinity and beyond. It was so brown and dry. There was no sauce, but I don't think a sauce could have saved it. Again, server was very understanding and took the dishes away.
Even after removing the bad food, the bill was still $26 for 1 soda, 1 tea, 1 kid's meal, 1 egg roll order, and 1 edamame order (which were not salted at all).
The egg rolls are why 2 stars...
Read moreMemorable.. for negative reasons. First time and the last time. Not the place to go if you have a preference for authentic Thai/Asian food.
Service: 2/5 customer service was not terrible but almost nonexistent. Got to our table, given iced water and our order taken after we were ready to order. Never came back to check if everything was okay or if anything was amiss. Food: Ordered three dishes. They were pretty plain in all aspects. 1)Noodle Soup (Pho):2/5 Small bowl of pho(a size small in many Asian restaurant) flavor of soup was not deep A few options of meat: vegetarian, chicken, pork, beef and duck. I had beef and it was as pictured and disappointing. No condiments and straight up plain beef. Basically consist of one beef meat part, beef soup, noodles, bean sprouts, green ions and cilantro 2)Thai fried rice(Thai fried rice): 2/5 There were multiple options for the fried rice style and I got Thai which comes straight up with tomatoes and cucumbers as described. I tasted.. sweet soy sauce. There was a strong smell of it. Extremely noticeable. Super oily that doesn’t make the dish any better. 3)Green Curry: 2/5 The flavor again was a miss for me. Flavor was a 3/5 for me. It is on the sweet side. A spice level 4 that did not taste like 4, instead a 2. Chicken was very chunky and uneven. The curry had meat, bell peppers, peas and carrots. Just too plain of a curry in my Thai curry history. Side of rice that came with it was too small. The rice went with a 1/4 of the curry then there was no more rice to go with it. It would be better to have some leftover rice than not enough. —— Cold iced water(tap) had a copper aftertaste to it. Make the whole meal.. even worse.
Atmosphere: was pretty cold there and very few customers for a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of room and COVID procedures were followed. There was also outdoor seating. Place was clean so no issue there.
I hope that feedback is taken and steps taken to improve for those who come after...
Read moreMy friends and I went to get dinner here on a whim, and we couldn't even finish our entrees because it tasted so bad. The service was very slow despite the restaurant only being half full, but the appetizers were delicious and worth the wait so we decided to ignore the poor service. We were excited to get our main entrees, because we expected our entrees to taste just as good the appetizers. We were also impressed by the robot presenting our meals, which made us even more excited to eat our food. But when we took our first bites into our meal, we were very disappointed.
The pad thai tasted very strange. I thought my friend was exaggerating about the weird taste at first, but when I tried it, the sauce tasted almost like burnt cooking oil, it's hard to even really describe. My other friend, who's vegan, found beef at the bottom her meal. She considered taking it home after taking out all the tofu (which was not good) until she saw that. Speaking of, the tofu in our food was very rubbery and hard to chew, and made it hard to finish our meals. The taste of the sauce on my food was good, but the protein and the consistency was not. I was strictly raised not to waste food, but I could barely eat my meal. My friend and I also felt sick the day after eating here, which made it even worse.
The only reason I decided to rate this place two stars instead of one is because again, the appetizers were delicious, and we really regretted not ordering a bunch of appetizers instead of main entrees. If we had just the appetizers, it would be a very different review. We will not be...
