"WELCOME TO UNPLEASANTNESS"
We are Moe's lovers. Every Monday in our family is Moe's Monday.
We're usually in the Dahlonega area, where the Moe's treats us like family. Most Moe's locations, even the ones which don't know us, aren't as exuberant as the Dahlonega one, but are usually friendly and still yummy.
This Moe's shocked me. Not one person even looked up when we entered, and not one person said the trademark"Welcome to Moe's."
The man who created our order actually rolled his eyes at my wife's polite request for separate little cups of bacon, lettuce and cheese for our five-year-old, who doesn't like to mix food. He even added a little guilt by actually saying to us, "That's wasting a LOT." (We recycle all the time at home, but regardless, is it good business practice to roll your eyes at your customers in what appeared to be judgement of them?)
Oh, and they also charged us handsomely for our five-year-old's food: perhaps an ounce of food in total cost us four full-size side dishes (no Moe's had ever charged us for more than one side for the tiny-sized cups of bacon, lettuce and cheese, if they charged us at all).
Plus the same man told us the Chicken Bacon Avocado bowl (which I had just ordered last Monday) had been discontinued "for a long time" and proceeded to charge us for the bacon on my Chicken Bacon Avocado bowl. Had I known, I would have asked him to skip the bacon. This Moe's Monday, instead of being a nice family bargain, was $8 more than I usually pay. Honestly, that pisses me off.
There's more: the food tasted "dead"-- that's a quote from our five-year-old. The bathrooms (except for the sinks, which were clean and stocked with soap and towels) were disgusting.
In short, this was nothing like any Moe's I've ever been in, and had this been my first Moe's, it would have been my last.
To be fair, though, if you're a fan of watery, overcooked food and rude, condescending, dismissive service (think Ed Debevic's), you may like the place.
Shame on you as a company, Moe's, for allowing this disgraceful location to sully your well-deserved reputation for deliciousness and fun. Needless to say, we'll never eat...
Read morePoor quality food (compared to other Moe's locations). I have been to at least 10-15+ Moe's locations in my life, and the quality of the food just isn't the same at this one. It is convenient to me, so I gave it a 2nd chance just incase it was a one time thing, but unfortunately, it was just as bad that time too. A couple weeks later a friend surprised me with some food, and it turns out they got it from that same location without knowing, and we both agreed that there was something not right about the food.
Also, the couple times I did go myself, the people preparing the food were incredibly stingy with the amounts of ingredients they would put into the burrito. I asked for "LOTS of cheese" and the man literally took two fingers, pinched a little bit out of the container, and sprinkled it on as if it was salt or something like that. It was probably about 2 tablespoons worth of grated cheese. I laughed and thought he was just being funny; I asked for more, and he asked if I wanted to order extra cheese for additional charge. I said, "you're joking, right?" and he just smiled and subtly shook his head letting me know that he wasn't joking, trying to not be confrontational about it. The person next to me said "WOW I've been to other Moe's before and have never witnessed anything like that"
I saw a deal last week where they were doing buy one, get one burritos at this location only; seems to be a sign that they're not being successful and it doesn't surprise me. I had no interest in taking advantage of that deal. I think that if the Moe's corporate office had any idea about the quality of food at this location, they would be very upset that this place is hurting...
