Home for the holiday, stopped in for a late lunch on the 3rd because we ate here last year and had a good experience. Won’t be dining here in the future.
Service from main server was poor and awkward. Sign in front indicates they pass merchant fee on to patrons who want to use cashless payment. Food and drinks ordered. Cocktail (vanilla bean old fashion) was not well made. Beer was good. Burger and kids meal were good for wife and child. I wasn’t as hungry and ordered crock of French onion soup. Server brought out entrees for my wife and child and told me my cup of soup was too cold so they were reheating it. Several minutes later was brought a visibly boiling cup soup with the spoon in the cup, cheese melted to the spoon like it had be stirred after being plated, and 5-6 croutons that had been soaking long enough to be disintegrating. I tried a couple bites and decided not to eat it.
I’d of just paid for the crappy soup and went about my day, but my wife complained (not to our server, she never returned after bringing out the other entrees, to a bearded server who asked me if I wanted a refill on my beer). He instantly took a condescending tone, accused me of eating all the bread and cheese and asked me if I’d ever eaten French onion soup (I have, and love it, and was looking forward to a crock of it until I received a cup of what they were serving).
They took the soup off the tab. Original server never came back out. Bearded guy took our payment and with an air of thick, mock-nice condescension, thicker than when he accused me of not knowing what French onion soup is.
I can only surmise the soup was plated first, was cold by the time the other entrees were done, then stuck in a microwave or q-ing oven until boiling, stirred with the spoon I was intended to eat it with, then...
Read moreI Never in all my 45 year of being a server and going to restaurants have I ever had an experience like the one I had here. We had 3 servers all at different times. We ask for and extra item with our order and server 2 added it to our order. Server one brought our order and it was not correct. I told the server the shrimp basket was not ours and he took it to the kitchen. He return and said it was removed from our bill but we could keep it for the mistake in communication. We were eating our food including the shrimp and server 3 came to the table and said we needed to give the shrimp back or be charged for them. Understand if we hadn't already told server 2 that they were not our and sent them back, but not the case. She proceeded to be rude and we had to pick the food off our plates and give it to her. When asking who are server was, we were told we did not have one server tips are pooled. I explained the situation to server 2. Who had taken our order and she asked what she could do. I stated "do what you think is right". She did Nothing!!!! No compensation for being totally humiliated in front of other tables, for something that was there mistake.
This was our second time at this restaurant. The first time my husband's burger was raw ( still raw and cold only seard) . To bad the place was cute and drinks were good. How ever there are many choices for excellent food and drink in town. I would opt and go...
Read moreLove this place, absolutely amazing food, always order to-go because it’s hard to find a spot on the street close by. Picked up a to-go order the other day and was ecstatic the first pick up spot now has a new sign that says handicap parking OR pickup parking. I parked today to go in and have a beer and some food on the patio, a waitress came out and said it’s not handicap parking and I had to move. I’m a young healthy looking guy so I get it, but I’m a 100% disabled veteran with a history of a broken back, bad knees, ankles, hips, also recently diagnosed with sarcoidosis (a lung disease that clogged up my lungs and makes it hard to breathe) that I got from the burn pits in Iraq. I also have PTSD and have my ESAs (emotional support animal’s) with me all the time, so it was nice I could watch them as well. Some nights they won’t do takeout, and it would have been nice to still go in and get some food and park in the handicap spot. Again great food (especially their BBQ), great people, great experience, but it’s very misleading, the signs are brand new and the one says handicap OR pickup, if it’s not a handicap spot you should fix the sign. Today there were a couple spots across the street that were open but most nights I drive by they can be...
