Chivos Catering — Restaurant in Maryland

I placed an order order over the phone. The person helping me on the line had difficulty understanding English, but that's okay. I was asking how many pupusas the average person orders because I didn't want to have too too much food, so I guessed and settled on three.

I arrived at the deli and no one was at the counter. I decided to wait, assuming the workers were busy in the back, and waited ten minutes before noticing the bell and ringing it. The cashier was friendly and had my order ready in the back. She placed a napkin but forgot to give a fork (this was my first time eating pupuzas, so I had no idea they are HOT).

I went back into my car and realized I needed a fork, so I returned for one.

Food was EXCELLENT. I am only providing 4 stars because they NEED to go easier on the salt. I could feel my blood pressure rising as I enjoyed the food.

I would still recommend, but...

First time at this place, I was graving tacos. There was no other place around so. I decided to give them a try.

The layout of the place its weird, you have to make a sharp right, right at the door. I was waiting there for a couple of minutes before someone noticed me and helped me right away. I didn't see the prices or a menu anywhere when I was ordering. The place was very disorganized and honestly dirty for a restaurant serving food.

The tacos were eatable but far from great, the tortillas where store bought not hand made and kinda cold. The beef had to much fat for my liking. And there were given to me a small containers mush together with 2 hot sauces and no lime.

The lady was nice enough but definitely needs more custumer service experience.

I won't be going again....

First off wanted to start with the location of this place. It was really hard trying to find the location to this establishment. It’s located inside of a beer and wine shop deep inside all the way towards the back of the shop. When I placed my order online I wanted my Pupusas made out of rice flour and when I went to go pick them up they didn’t have rice flour Pupusas and they made them out of corn flour instead. Once I picked up the food and took it back to my job and started eating them once I got to my third pupusa I realize that there was hair inside one of my pupusas and that just made me lose my appetite for the rest of the day. For these reasons is why I am giving this place a one...
