I'm writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the deplorable incident that transpired during our recent visit to your establishment. The experience was not only infuriating but also left us feeling thoroughly humiliated.
Upon entering the nearly empty restaurant, we anticipated an enjoyable evening. After ordering a couple of beers, we decided to explore the tequila options and selected two that caught our interest. When we signaled the waiter for one shot of each, little did we expect the shocking turn of events that followed.
As the waiter was in the process of serving us, the manager intervened, instructing him to inquire about our financial capacity to afford the tequila shots. Frankly, this was an outrageous and offensive intrusion into our privacy. The fact that a query about our ability to pay for $35 shots was deemed necessary is not only insulting but utterly unacceptable.
In a country as diverse as America, where individuals from all walks of life dine out, such a condescending assumption is not only unwarranted but also tarnishes the reputation of your establishment. The insinuation that patrons need to be scrutinized for their financial capability, particularly in a nearly empty restaurant, reflects poorly on the professionalism and customer service standards at Margaritas Mexican in Matthews.
Feeling utterly disrespected, we promptly requested the previously ordered items to go. The entire incident has left a bitter taste in our mouths, figuratively and literally, and calls into question the training and protocols in place for your staff.
This correspondence serves as a stern critique, and we implore you to take immediate and corrective action. No guest should be subjected to such an appalling experience. We urge you to reevaluate your staff's approach to customer service to prevent the recurrence of such distressing situations in the future.
This incident has seriously undermined our confidence in your restaurant, and we hope that our feedback prompts a thorough examination of your practices. While we may reconsider our decision to patronize your establishment in the future, it is contingent upon visible and tangible improvements in your customer service standards.
By the way, the manager’s name was...
Read moreWe are from SoCal so understand where this review is coming from. We know good Mexican food!
Short Version Setting: Lunch on a Saturday Price: Fair for the serving size Food: Really freaking good! Service: Perfectly adequate.
Long Version: My wife and I came into the restaurant around lunchtime on a Saturday. They were plenty of people sitting outside, but not many sitting inside. They definitely are not scrimping any money on the air conditioning as it was nice and cool inside. The decor is colorful and tasteful. My wife and I are not super big on decorations from Dia de los Muertos; however, there wasn’t too much of that.
The Table salsa was really good and a little bit spicy. We ordered a large guacamole and, it was really good! Again, remember that we are from Southern California and we don’t judge that one lightly. My wife ordered the grilled chicken nachos and made it supreme. It tasted fresh and well flavored. I ordered a Burrito A La Pina and it tasted really awesome. The pineapples were cooked perfectly and mixed very well with the chorizo and chicken inside. Their beans and rice were very good.
The weight staff came at appropriate intervals. I never had an empty glass of water, which is a big deal for me, and we didn’t get too much intrusive checking in.
Overall, I do not understand the other reviews saying that this place is overpriced, or that the portions are too small based on the price. The portions are very appropriate given where we are, how much the rent probably is, and inflation. The booth seating was comfy while supportive. When we ordered guacamole, we didn’t have to ask for more chips. We were told they would be brought out and we got a fresh bowl within two minutes. Also, when our food was brought out, the wait staff accidentally knocked my wife’s fork off the napkin and under the plate. We didn’t have to say anything. She immediately apologized and replaced it.
Also, the food was really good. If you like good Mexican food and don’t want to drive all the way to the other end of Monroe to get it, you should come here! We...
Read moreAnother gem!! Last night we decided to try Margaritas and we were not disappointed!! I would give them 10/5 stars so let's break down those stars🤸🏼♂️🎉!! Food- 10/5! The food has a unique flavor, my fiancee ordered the nachos with steak and FINALLY he found a meat that he will not stop talking about how good it was. I ordered the Cazuelon and I will be honest, I am tired of paying for food that is just bland or salty so I was a bit worried. The dish has steak, chicken and chorizo. OMG!! The flavor for each piece took me to heaven!! I ate it so fast, it was just waaaayy too good to stop eating. The rice, the guacamole salad was fresh and very good. The yellow rice was soooo good that I ordered an extra serving. Drinks- I ordered a Cadillac Margarita, is a unique blend but I will stick to my traditional margarita. They have a huge selection so that's good. Their menu is very easy to read and has tons of photos which I like. Service- 50/5! Felix, the manager, walked around checking every table and asking questions. When I told him how much we liked the food, but specially the meat, and I asked him about the spices used to cook, he pulled a chair close to our table and we just had the most pleasant experience exchanging food tips and secrets!! The entire staff was very pleasant. Atmosphere- 10/5- the place has a nice atmosphere, not too loud, good lighting, clean. I highly recommend this location, I have not been to any other location but I 100% go back and try their ceviche and tacos and everything else because if the nachos are good...I can imagine...
