I was so glad to come across this location just down the street from our stay. Such a cool spot with the food trucks all around and nice covered seating. Suns out Buns out was a spot I had heard about and my wife loves bao buns. We only have one spot near us at home so this was a cool spot to check out. Our daughter loved the spot since there was so much going on. The woman was friendly and greeted us, she was patient in answering a couple questions as I decided what to order. Made sure we had everything we needed when we picked up our order too. I love the how these are similar to tacos, but a super soft fluffy bao instead. The little piggy on the ube was so good and the color is great. The bit of sweet and tang on the pork was really nice and the bit of crunch from the veg was nice contrast. The bao chicka bao bao is a fun play on words and delicious. Fried chicken was filling, crunchy with a tiny kick, the pickles wrapped it up nicely. Between the three of us though, we all thought the crispy shrimp was the best. The crunch of the breading, sweetness of the coconut and mango, and the bit of spice from the sauce and the pepper was so good. It was perfectly balanced with the texture...

Edit: thanks to the business' response to my review, I'm editing my stars. Kudos! There's my customer service 💗 mahalo

Note to business: it feels uncomfortable to ask for personal service when there's a giant kiosk that says ORDER HERE. There was no one in line when I came, there were no orders that went out ahead of me. I do understand busy; however, you were not when I came. My suggestions for you are this: have someone greet a customer when they come up (if you're not too busy) or have a sign on the kiosk that says something like, we're here for you, please let us know if you need us (or a button within the self-serve that says "press for help"). I had a couple questions but didn't feel like I had permission to ask since I saw no workers and only the giant self-serve kiosk.

Original: I'm not sure how to rate their service since you self-order using a kiosk. Service isn't included when you place your own order and then they hand you your meal. The bao's were fun and I enjoyed the flavors of each variety I tried. I'd probably come back but I wish they would provide some...

This is the best new food truck anywhere! The buns are freshly hand made and you can taste it! The texture is light but substantial. Ordered the pork, short ribs, and crispy shrimp and nobody could pick a favorite because they were all incredibly delicious. The idea is simple but the talented chefs take it to the next level! The owners are so friendly and they make you feel like they truly want to cook just for you. Couldn’t have asked for better food or people. We will be back, and back and back.

Went again today because I’ll be gone quite awhile and couldn’t leave the island without tasting more of their incredibly good food. Tried the Bao Chicka Bao Bao, Roast Beet Salad, Coco Loco Puddin’ and those giant yummy cookies. I also took home a few other things we had before. Their food is by far the best I’ve had from any of the many great Maui food trucks. Sun’s Out Buns Out, I hope you’re here...

This is a MUST!!!! Wowza - the Crispy Shrimp and Veggie Miso Trippy Bao Buns are out of this world! The glaze on both is so flavorful and unique! Chilled Edama was yummy but another MUST have is the fried cauliflower with a honey garlic sauce. I’m a pescatarian. My sister-in-law was leary but she loved it too! She ordered it on our second visit to Suns Out. The service - I wish I would have remembered the young gentleman’s name who took the order and delivered it. Was over the top positive, happy and helpful. AND…not only did he remember us from our first visit but remembered what we ordered…what?!?!?! Now that's what I call service. HIGHLY Recommended. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could, especially for a food truck (and I don’t mean that in any derogatory way). They can compete with any store front around.
