I stopped in at Fork & Salad in Kihei looking for a quick, fresh, gluten-free option—and walked out more than impressed. The gluten-free chicken Caesar wrap was absolutely spot-on. The chicken was juicy and perfectly grilled, the greens were fresh and crisp, and the Caesar dressing had just the right amount of tang. What really stood out was the gluten-free wrap itself—soft, flavorful, and it held together beautifully without falling apart like so many GF wraps tend to do. But the real hidden gem? The gluten-free cookies. I wasn’t expecting much, but these cookies were dangerously good. Soft, chewy, with just the right amount of sweetness—they’re the kind of treat that makes you double check they’re actually gluten-free. Fork & Salad nails the balance between healthy and indulgent. Definitely a must-stop for anyone eating gluten-free on the island.

Today I made the mistake of going to Fork & Salad again. We never eat here since my boyfriend got food poisoning there last year. I called the store when I got home to make them aware of these baby caterpillars in my salad (I saw 5 before I decided to toss the salad). She hung up on me 3 times throughout our conversation. I let her know I was disconnected somehow when I called back and she said she had another order. Wow. Once she thought to refund my order, she decided it was time to hang up again. Never once did I get an apology. Very poor customer service. Employees need training on rinsing vegetables as this is a common problem with using farm fresh produce, especially leafy greens. Employees should also be trained how to properly and professionally handle a situation like this.

Used to be a regular client , not anymore and I won’t be coming back anytime soon after last week experience: Ordered a Thai salad on a wrap, I got spinach instead of arugula and cero cashews. Salad wasn’t even tossed. The lady who “made” the salad acted like she hated her job and clearly can’t follow a simple recipe. This is fast food at this point, they don’t even care. I can’t say the same thing about the Kahului location, my experience there was always positive. Called to let them know their mistake and they lied, told me they were gonna call me back and never did. This is why I’m writing this review, I don’t normally rate 1 star local business. 👎🏻

Only 1 extra star for the sole fact that the employees are friendly+food is usually fresh tasting and close to home. I just got back from this location; 5/18/24

Azeka’s power went out midway through making my order, which contained two salads; no add ons or protein. With that being said, I totally understand that running with no power can be stressful; there were 3 employees, that all we’re incredibly incompetent to a concerning degree, even before the power went out; Not only were they all unknowing of their menu (every salad a customer ordered before my order and after, every two seconds the crew would stop to look at the cheat sheet taped to the glass in front of them until the order was made; not to mention simultaneously asking other employees what goes in the salads)

Once the power still had not turned on, the “supervisor?” Announced all salad sales would be cash, a customer then blurted out a question; “do we need exact change?” His response; “ I am able to use my phone to calculate the exact amounts” Customer; “ but do you have change?” His response “ we have money to exchange “ Once that was out of the way, I had them set my order to the side so I could go get cash. Once I return, it took 8 mins just to get him ( or anyone working) to acknowledge me, I was gone for 6 mins TOPS, my order was done since before I left and was off to the side. The reason it took 8 mins? All three of them are trying to figure out what to put in the salad they are making. Soon after, the “supervisor “ is now (still not even acknowledging I came back) trying to calculate the total for the group that came in after me ( their salads aren’t even all made yet) I then finally walked closer, up to the cashier counter and said; “ hello.” This “supervisor” then proceeded to take 18 mins to calculate the total on his phone, which was 2 salads @ 12.55 (that’s tax included) It took him over 5 different calculations just to get the total I owed; mind you, he set my cash to the side already then FORGOT and was telling me the total as of I hadn’t just handed him 40$ In this 18 min period he also went to the back to talk to his employees about something that obviously was not anything urgent and could have waited ( considering it resulted in them all laughing and saying inaudible nonsense.) Not to mention taking many MORE iPhone calculations while also for some reason trying to jump back and forth between my total and the people behind me, once he got my total AGAIN, he then took another 3/4 calculations to get the correct change total. This whole experience just made me very concerned for our future generation and also the local owners who hired these children. They all were nice, but lacking guidance and knowledge. While they definitely have some skills to acquire; at the end of the day this is a symptom of poor management.

To give some perspective; I’ve been a customer for years and never have posted a review. I’ve literally had BUGS crawl out of my food before and still just dealt with it because I know “sh*t” happens”

My food taking almost an hour to obtain isn’t the real issue, nor is the power going out. I’m honestly so befuddled from this whole interaction that I truly needed on post this. Not like I can just get the owners on the phone .. I hope they see this and take actions that lead to at least a “semi competent” staff member...

I have been coming to the Kihei store several times a week for the past 6 months and can honestly say I absolutely love the salad and in most cases, the Service. Everyone behind the counter is very friendly with the exception of the older woman. I can't remember her name but it starts with an "A". I have never seen anyone with such a negative attitude. I understand that people have bad days but EACH and everytime she makes my food, she does so with an attitude. The other day, I ordered a wrap. I started the order with making the salad and she abruptly said "Come on, don't you know this starts with the wrap first" Then, when she was putting the salad together, I paused to pick out the toppings. Her facial expression said it all. She has such a bad attitude that on many occasions I did not want to come back but love the place. In fact, 6 of my colleagues also visit the establishment and has the same feelings as me. She talks to customers as if she is inferior to them. As stated earlier, each and every staff member is so nice and always does their best to help the customer. Maybe she is best working in the back room and not exposing herself to paying customers. I don't want to sound mean, but can imagine the number of folks that feel the same...Just ask...

I continue to patronize this establishment because its a quick and healthy option in my area. But I have to say that their order accuracy has always been and continues to be, absolutely atrocious. I have called in orders, used delivery and walked in-store on many, many occasions and my order has been incorrect fully 50% of the time. And that does not count the times Ive had to lean over the glass and correct the person making the order even after being super clear. Today I ordered using a delivery service and waited 30 minutes for a 41$ salad that ended up being mostly inedible even with very clear order instructions in two areas of the order submission. What I asked to be put on the order(and paid extra for) was missing and what I asked to be held off the order was added. I love you guys, but you have GOT to start getting folks on task with attention to accuracy. I still go there because the food is good, but I am constantly bemoaning the poor service to anyone who mentions this establishment. I suggest eyeballing your salad through every step of the process, because they WILL not...
