Westin Maui Beach Bar — Restaurant in Maui

The atmosphere is lovely here, but… we paid $75 for a burger and fries, fish tacos, and two drinks (a lava flow and a virgin lava flow). This is an expected price around Maui, so whatever, right? Except the food and drinks we got were pretty dismal. The drinks come in tiny plastic cups and were not even comparable to others in similar locations. I ordered my fish tacos with no salsa. One was overloaded with cabbage and the other was overloaded with… salsa. The fish wasn’t cooked poorly, but everything else on the plate was pretty gross. The worst was the tortillas. They were dry, crumbly, and nowhere close to fresh tasting. The burger was not cooked to order, it was hard to eat it was so dry, and the fries were the more decent of the menu items. The food is quite elevated for what you'd order around a bar. The menu is fairly standard for what you can get from the resort. So it's the same menu for anything on the resort that isn't one of their local restaurants which are great. The service people go abo e and beyond and make you feel like they know you even if they deal with thousands of people a year. Loved the attention to detail. And as far as the atmosphere, you're at a 4 star resort located next to the ocean in Maui. Fire pits, sand, pools with waterfalls. They have the small nugget ice which I loved. Ordered a skinny margarita it tasted like it was made with the store bought lemon juice. Very sweet. Not quite a “skinny” margarita.

Food was ok…. Shrimp tacos were good. The chips were beyond stale. Kids flatbread pizza was decent. Their fries were good but had a hair in them. Husband got the chicken sandwich which was also good.
