I recently ordered the spicy tuna nachos from Maui Poke, and overall, I had a satisfying experience. The nachos themselves were delicious and lived up to my expectations. However, there were a few areas where I believe Maui Poke could elevate their culinary game and make their food even more exceptional.
Let's start with the positives. The spicy tuna nachos were a treat for my taste buds. The combination of the fresh tuna, zesty spices, and crunchy nacho chips created a delightful harmony of flavors. The portion size was generous, making it a suitable option for sharing with friends or enjoying as a fulfilling meal. It's evident that the ingredients used were of high quality, and I appreciated the attention to detail in preparing this dish.
The outdoor dining area provided a pleasant setting for enjoying our to-go order. Sitting there, surrounded by nature and soaking in the atmosphere, added to the overall experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that our order was accurate and ready for pick-up.
However, where Maui Poke could improve is in their variety of toppings. While the spicy tuna itself was exceptional, I couldn't help but feel that the nachos could have benefited from additional toppings to enhance the overall flavor profile. Perhaps the inclusion of some fresh vegetables like diced avocado or thinly sliced radishes could have added a layer of complexity and texture to the dish. Although the existing ingredients were tasty, a broader selection of toppings would have elevated the nachos to another level and provided a more well-rounded experience.
Despite this minor critique, Maui Poke's spicy tuna nachos are still a worthy choice for any poke enthusiast. The delicious flavors, ample portion size, and friendly service make for an enjoyable dining experience. With a bit of tweaking to incorporate more toppings, Maui Poke has the potential to take their food to the next level of excellence.

Read moreI really wanted some poke and this was the only option at the food court. Not much service to talk about since it’s fast food. We got other items from Joey’s Kitchen so I got only a Maui Signature at this establishment. I also got a passion fruit tea for $5. Yes, I detected a bit of passion fruit and there was definitely tea, but the taste was fleeting. It felt like water with a hint of passion fruit and tea.
The Maui Signature had a great presentation as it looked appetizing. But when I tasted it, I was disappointed. Perhaps I’ve been used to the “chipotle” style poke places in California where you choose your protein, your toppings and your sauces. For instance, the “Hawaiian Poke” in Dublin, California has bigger bowls, more toppings and better flavor. This one did not have enough sauces to my liking. We did get soy sauce from Joey’s Kitchen and had to add that to the poke. The biggest issue I had with the poke was that half of the white rice was not fully cooked. That’s just a mistake that no restaurant should make. Perhaps we were unlucky and got the half-cooked rice. But poke in Hawaii, especially with a name like “Maui Poke” should not be this bad. I blame myself for my disappointment - I will now adjust my expectations when it comes to food...
Read moreThey change their prices and charge different prices as they see fit. Then they act like they aren’t going to speak English. Your bill may be $80 one time and then $40 another (for the same items), depending on what they decide they want to charge and then they argue with you when you point this out. Oh and they barely fill the bowel, with little to no rice, veggies, meat, etc. We almost left our food and walked out after they decided to charge us a different price, but our kids were hungry. We used to enjoy coming here, but this place has changed and they are greedy by charging one price one time and then a different price the next time. In other words, they price gouge, which is unethical. Very unpleasant workers! Very disappointing and we know other people have experienced this as well, so we are speaking for them also. Spend your money elsewhere and if we could we would give them a negative rating, but 1 is the lowest possible score. Terrible service and...
