Amoré Lounge Cafe & Hookah — Restaurant in McKinney

My friends and I went to this place on Saturday night 8/30/2025. When my Lady and I arrived, my friends were already seated. We sat with them. No one came to greet us or speak. Then I realized there was a button on the table. I pressed the button, the waitress came, and I ordered a hookah. It took 10 minutes for the hookah to come out which was great. The waitress said let me go see if the coals are ready. She came back and placed the coals on top of the hookah. After 5 minutes the hookah was not producing any smoke. I called the waitress back over and asked her does she have a hookah starter to get the hookah going. She said yes, went to get it, and came back to get it going. I began to smoke the hookah and it did not taste like what I ordered. It had a charcoal and soapy water taste to it. At this moment tla different waiter walked by and I caught his attention. I explained that this hookah does not taste right and is not producing any smoke. He said he got me. I told him what I ordered. He went to the back to remake it. The original waitress brings back the newly made hookah bowl and asked if I wanted to put the halfway burnt coals on there until the new coals were ready. I said yes. 10 minutes go by. No coals yet but I saw two hookahs come out with coals. 30 minutes pass and no coals to my hookah bowl yet. Mind you they brought out four new hookahs to different customers with fresh coals. Then the waitress finally brought new coals to me after 45 minutes. When the hookah finally started to blow or smoke, it still had a soapy and burnt charcoal taste. I have smoked hookahs over 10 years and know my flavor profiles well. They are slow and unresponsive. They act like they have a problem with foundational black Americans. They don't provide the same level of service as shown to Caucasians and Arabs or Middle Easterners aka Northern Eastern Tip of African People. I was polite and respectful. No stinking attitude and totally pleasant. I paid and left. I will not go back to this place unless I own it or become part owner and improve the quality of service and product....

09/17/24: This was my First time here. Came in and stood at register for a good 5+ mins with no clues who or where the employee(s) at.

I didn’t eat there, so can’t rate the food, until next time. The service isn’t bad, but since I waited some time in beginning, I gave it 4 stars. The atmosphere was amazingly nice vibe, and as of all interior lighting and all other detailed designs, I gave that a 5 stars.

Overall, I gave it 5 stars, as I usually give 4 stars as maximum rates to any places. And why I gave this place 5 stars? Because after I luckily met the Owner and staffs and their business-friends that happened to be there; had intriguing conversations about my likes-n-dislikes of the place as well as my comparison of general-all hookah lounge experiences with other hookah places.

Even though I don’t live close to this place, but I think they just earned my future businesses as customer or more aka this will becoming one of my favorite hookah location to smoke hookah, and to bring friends with.

Highly recommended hookah lovers to come chill with-or-without friends at this place.
