Really wanted to like this place as it is literally 2 minutes from my home. While ordering at the drive through, we asked what our total was so far, and he said $20. He added that if we paid with cash, it would be $27. Using cash adds 30% to the price. The reason for this became apparent when we got to the window. After your card is ran a barely reachable display is presented with preset tip options. Maybe the most expensive tip option being the reachable one was just accidental. Two quarter pound burgers, fries, drink, and a shake, cost about $50. So, we were hopeful for a great burger experience. The shakes were made with real icecream and other ingredience. So tasted like a shake you mix at home. Not exciting but the best part of the meal. The burger was not exciting. It was not bad, but seemed to taste less than what a few minutes at home would be. Fries were obviously frozen before cooking, not bad but again, not what you would expect for $25 a person. The fry dip, is just a thousand island dressing derivitive. The drinks were almost totally filled with ice. So, if a $6 medium shake made with normal icecream is what you want, that would get 4 stars from me. The rest was not bad, but for the price, not good. None of the food was bad, but none was above adequate. It feels like it should be a two star review but the food was ok, just boring and not rising to restaraunt quality. Supermarket frozen burger paddy, frozen fries, normal buns. Maybe the other menu items have more...
Read moreIt's hard to write this review of Barney's Burgers. For one thing, they are trying to bring back a decent burger experience that the fastfood restaurants have killed off. Also, while their burgers and some drinks are inconsistent, most of their offerings are decent. So let's start with the bad. I have eaten three of their burgers (on three random occasions) and the first two were dry, overcooked and likely overhandled. The last one was somewhat juicy, but a little chewy still. Their tots and fries are fine, as are their milkshakes. 1 out of two times I ordered unsweetened ice tea, it tasted excessively bitter and it was clear it had been sitting a long time. You might think I am being a bit picky for a burger joint, but at around 50 bucks for three people to eat, I think anyone would expect more. I would like to give Barney's a better score and will do so if they can improve their...
Read moreBarney's was highly rated on Google, so I decided to stop in. It didn't disappoint. I ordered the Rogue Bleu Cheese Burger and the Chili Cheese Fries. The bun was soft, fluffy and fresh, and the veggies were also fresh (tomato, onion, and leaf lettuce). The burger patty had a good char without being overcooked, and they put a good amount of the Rogue Bleu Cheese without it being overpowering. The fries are very thin, so I was a bit surprised that they were cooked just as I prefer them - tender on the inside and just starting to crisp on the outside. They had a generous amount of chili and cheese, and just enough fresh, chopped white onion. The only comment I would have is that a few of the fries were just a little oversalted, but it was just here and there and not throughout. Overall, I would definitely eat here again, and I see why their star...
