Good Day! I would like to share the fact that I love this Happy Mexican Restaurant on Second Street in Downtown Memphis, TN. However, I would like to inform you on this particular waiter whom I have encountered numerous times while visiting this restaurant through the years. I love this restaurant convenience, atmosphere, food, drinks, and services on most visits. But, this particular waiter has been working at this Happy Mexican Restaurant for many years, pretty much since they have been open and operating. This waiter (Fernando or Fernandez, whichever is his name) has the most nasty, disturbing, rude, unpleasant, awful, harsh, mean, horrible, and just disgusting attitude on 90% of my encounters with him. I mean, when I see him coming, literally start praying to GOD for a decent experience with this waiter. Also, when I see this waiter (Fernando or Fernandez) come to the table that I'm sitting, I literally be thinking about getting up and just leave because I really don't trust him to make my food nor my drink. On my last encounter with the RUDE, MEAN, NASTY ATTITUDE waiter (Fernando or Fernandez) on Monday, July 24th, 2023 around 630pm, it was the worst, I was so embarrassed in front of my friend, whom I invited for dinner and drinks. My friend stated "OMG where did they get him from?" "He is the worst of all times, why is he so mean, rude, and just disrespectful for no reason?" I told her, "This is norm, but he is worse today for some reason and I'm tired of him mistreating me when I'm constantly being nice, respectful, and polite to him." I reported him to the manager on numerous occasions, even on this encounter on 7/24/23 reported him to the manager. Though, I don't know what is being done about him on how he treats the customers, I'm almost sure that I'm not the only customer that he treats so badly and I can bet that it's mostly African American women that gets this nasty, mean, rude, and horrible treatment from this guy (Fernando or Fernandez.) I don't know if you guys (Happy Mexican Restaurant) on Second Street Owners and Managers have paid or are paying close attention to your numbers, but I'm sure there have a decrease over the years or a shift downward at some point and most likely it came about due to this mean, rude, disrespectful waiter (Fernando or Fernandez) that you guys have on your team. I know that everyone who works must need their jobs, but this guy must go. He is not a good look for your business. Him alone have one like me scared to order any food or drink from your establishment. As mentioned earlier, I said 90% of my encounters with this waiter due to when my Husband and I come to this Happy Mexican Restaurant, his attitude is a little tolerable/decent. Moreover, that 10% of decent experience does not overshadow the 90% of rudeness, nastiness, meanness, and disrespectfulness that he demonstrates on a norm. Read moreBeen comeing there for years at least 30/40 times. i came with my wife abd her friends on aug 29 2020 they have no sign in sheet like the health department of Tennessee requires them to have since the coronavirus outbreak and there was no spacing in between tables but the real reason why I'm leaving a review is because my horrible experience that I had with my waiter it took extreme amount of time for my waiter to return and take an order for my drinks or food and by the time I even got my food to my orders were Incorrect and not the way they were supposed to be and remember I've been coming here for a long time ask the waiter to fix the issue he tried to fix it but was not doing a satisfactory job and at the same time coolant from the AC unit above my table was leaking onto my wife's dish I asked them to replace it they did it within 30 seconds which I doubt that cooked a whole entire another meal we had to move tables move all of our drinks all of our food to a different table and I asked if I could get a discount because of how disappointed I was in the service / meal and they refused to give me a discount even after I told him that I've been here many many times they added the tip on to my ticket without asking me I had them remove it they complied and I told them that I would not be coming back ever again and will refuse to come with anybody highly disappointed and their service and feel disrespected by the way I was treated I normally don't write reviews but I would definitely compelled on this one this place is just going downhill in the past couple of years is not the same as...
Read moreThis was unfortunately one of my worst dining experience in a long time. The food was ok, but service sucked. Our server was not very attentive at all. She approached our table and never introduced herself. When I asked her name she became very annoyed. We ask for water at the beginning of this experience and had to ask multiple times. We finally got water 10 mins after our food arrived. She never came back to check on us while we were eating. There were other people at tables next to us that were also complaining. Myself and a person from two other tables had to get and up go to the hostess at take counter to get our bill and a to go container. When paying we attempted to address the service of the server(Lucy). The hostess smiled and said, " we get complaints all the the, so?" Then when asked, why hasn't something been done about it? The hostess replied, "don't tell us what to do." The unfortunate thing about this was other reviews were accurate in it's description of this establishment, but we chose to give it a try anyways. Reason being, is sometimes people can just have a bad day. Unfortunately, I think this is a normal thing here. Because almost every employee was either talking or texting on their cellphone. Even at time of me approaching the hostess I had to wait until she finished texting. I would hope that whoever is the owner or manger of this franchise please come in and witness the service and behaviors of their employees for themselves.
