Must have been a bad day to visit. I found this cigar shop while I was on Beale street and this lady at another bar recommended it after I asked if they sold cigars. She mentioned it was black owned so I ,checked it out. I think only two people were working, the lady in the cigar part and the bartender and it's a fairly large space and if you don't like cigar smoke, it's smoky so fair warning. My lady and I went to the bar and the bartender had her back turned and we stood there for a good five minutes and she saw us, but didn't ask if we wanted a drink or anything. I finally flagged her down and then she asked if we wanted drinks or cigars...I said both and she told me I had to get the cigars out the humidor, so I told my lady to order me some Uncle Nearest and get herself a drink and went to get a cigar. There was no one there but another young lady quickly appeared when I went in and recommended a cigar, cut and lit it for me and I went back to bar and the drink was there. Overall, I didn't feel welcomed here and was gonna have another drink but left with my cigar after the first drink. I noticed a ton of signs around the bar about using jiggers, don't move this, turn on the lights and something about not pissing in the bathroom but one sign was missing...how about a sign that says our customers pay our bills and we should make them feel like they want to come back here again. I was passing through town on my cross country road trip and this was my third visit to Memphis but if I come back thru, I won't be going to this...
Read moreLOVED THIS PLACE! I love a nice vibe and they had a live band so I was in heaven. I would recommend this place over and over! -February 2022
That ⬆️ was a year ago....
Fast forward, I came back when I was in town because I loved the vibes last time. Well the energy was way different. I am a bartender and I know all aren't the same, but the service and attitude was rude from beginning to end. I had to review again just to drop a star 2 on the rating. Working in public service requires u to be a people person and she clearly was not or was having a bad day. The place had a nice crowd so there clearly should have been at least 2 bartenders, instead the was one. She was slow as molasses which clearly she ignoring us...walked from behind the bar to take napkins to a table came back chewing fries pour someone on the end of the bar wine....we waited a 30 min before she even acknowledged us and then it was oh, you need something? Smh, me and the other ladies just looked like wow! BLATANTLY being ignored. Anyhoo, I'll be back and if that same bartender is there I will leave. Work on the customers service please. I love supporting black owned businesses, but I...
Read morethese are folks who don't seem to know what they are doing. In the humidor is where they are selling the cigars. They are cutting and lighting them in there. The humidor is full of smoke which has very obviously settled into all of the cigars rendering them fairly unpleasant to smoke. In the 'cigar lounge' it is poorly ventilated and shaking with a cacophony of noise. Looking around, I had the impression that most of the customers were smoking cigars for 'the look' rather than to enjoy a good cigar. The drinks were very over priced and the selection was as limited as the selection of cigars and for a place purporting to have the biggest walk in humidor in Memphis it was very disappointing. All up, I rate this joint...
