TLDR: the service was horrible, the food was terrible, and the manager was completely absent. Remarkably unacceptable.
Listen, I don't like to post poor reviews because everybody has a bad day occasionally. However, this was absolutely the worst restaurant experience that I've ever had. I mean, I certainly do not expect a five-star experience at an Applebee's but the staff here missed the mark on every opportunity to provide even decent service.
My family of four had about 80 minutes to kill between appointments so we went to Applebee's for a late lunch. There were only five tables seated in the entire restaurant when we arrived so we figured we'd be in and out pretty quickly. We ordered four meals from the 2-for-$30 menu and were pleased to see an ongoing promotion for a free Indiana Jones movie ticket with a $35 order or two tickets with a $70 order. The appetizers didn't arrive until 35 minutes after we were seated. Our meals arrived about 15 minutes later, or roughly 50 minutes after we were seated. We ordered one Chicken Alfredo and three Whiskey Bacon Burgers (two "pink" & one "no pink," all without raw onions). All three burgers were smashed flat, beyond well done, had no BBQ sauce or other condiments, no bacon, no cheese, and no crispy onions. When we brought it to our waitress's attention she immediately asked if she should get the manager. We didn't think that was necessary, we just asked if she could fix our orders. She admitted that she'd made a mistake and input our orders as three Classic Burgers (from the two-for-$20 menu) and offered to bring us sauce and onion rings, which we accepted because we were getting short on time. About 10 minutes later she finally delivered the sauce and onion rings and we immediately asked for to-go boxes. Our bill was altered to reflect price of the Classic Burgers instead of the Whiskey Bacon Burgers but that wasn't enough to salvage the experience. As a matter of fact, that almost made it worse because now our bill was too low to get that second movie ticket. While we were there only one more table was seated and three left; I know because we were seated at the first table inside the entrance. I could almost understand if any of this happened on a busy evening or weekend but this was at 3:00 p.m. on a Monday afternoon in a nearly empty restaurant. Read moreI hate to leave bad reviews but this one was truly deserved. Staff was snippy with each other and having their own turmoil going in front of guests up front. Got seated fairly quickly once that ended, took forever for us to get our drink order taken, drinks came super late, server very rarely checked in, asked for a soda refill after the glass has been empty 20+ minutes never got it, my sons yogurt was very thick not a creamy smooth yogurt, my besties steak ordered to medium was very rare, asked server for a chocolate milk for my son, had to ask again and still delayed to receive that, when we were paying the ticket on the tablet because no one came back she stopped by to ask of we wanted a box for the steak. When we advised no we did not and why she offered to take it off the bill but we were to far into paying at that point. She went and told the kitchen manager (and never came back), who told us we should have told them they could of given her something else...tell who? When? No one came by our table. They "pulled the charge back" removed the steak and reran our card. I will watch the bank to make sure both do not go thru. I am very very disappointed in our service here tonight and unfortunately will not recommend this location or return here in the future. I unfortunately did not get a picture of the steak but even the manager admitted that it was very rare and her plate had a pool of blood on/under it. We did have drinks with alcohol at the table but waters were never offered. The only times we were "checked on" is when the food was brought out and I asked for the chocolate milk at this time, when I stopped her again to ask for the milk, and when she brought us the ticket we were already visibly in the process of paying. I asked for the soda when she asked about the ticket and never got it and she never returned to the table even to see if the kitchen manager was able to help. No the restaurant was not busy. Read moreWe arrived tonight. My husband and myself frequent this location often. Food and service usually very good. Tonight however, it was quiet the opposite experience. Christine the bartender/waitress. Was all attitude from the moment we sat down. We ordered a two for 32 meal. With French onion soup as an appetizer. We love applebees French onion soup. She brought it to the table basically shoving the bowls in front of us, and just walked away. My husband and I both went to take a bite. The cheese on top was not melted when we took a small bite it was as if the soup had just come out of the fridge. We both immediately set them to the side of the table. She walk by a short time late and looked over and eyed the bowls sitting off to the side and proceed to walk away. She would not look over at our table again and proceeded to wash dishes and sweep the floor behind the bar. She only came over when the entrees were done. She set them down and started to turn to walk away when I stopped her to let her know of the inedible soup she had served. She asked if we wanted new, I told her no. She immediately took them away. We began to eat our entrees the mashed potatoes were again as if they had just been removed from a fridge the only thing warming them were the hot skillets. I do say the steak and chicken were cook excellent and very tasty. She never came back to check to see if we needed anything else. My husband would have like steak sauce but we were not given an opportunity to ask. I don't know if she was having a rough night, if the kitchen was short staffed, but whatever the problems were you don't treat your customers as if they are burdening you with their being there.
