Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Mesa

I came here to the Hampton location with my parents this evening. I appreciate a coupon being given to my dad for Veteran's Day. My dad's burger was not made correctly but he ate it. I didn't realize that the shakes are not actually shakes and have to be eaten, you can't drink them. My mom had asked for a chocolate shake made with vanilla custard as the actual chocolate shake is too chocolatey. It was made the usual way and she took it back to have it made with vanilla custard. There was a taller heavier set kid wearing glasses behind the counter. Who wanted to argue the matter with my mother while the other kids were telling him it was okay. My mother was not rude about it, she just wanted it made the way she asked for it. That taller kid wearing glasses grabbed the shake and very rudely told her it was a shake. I could see the attitude if a customer is being nasty but we aren't and I made it a point to say that his attitude was uncalled for. Tonight was the first time I've been to this location and based on the service, it may just be my last. My parents are retirees and have been to that location numerous times with no issues. My mom did say because of the hassle she was given over wanting her shake made with vanilla custard and the attitude she received, she isn't sure she will go back to...

Freddy's has been an enjoyable experience. The family loves coming here, the service is young but they handle themselves well, and always great and thank-you. Management is doing a fine job.

The Burgers, while not my favorite style, thin smash, crispy are spiced up, seasoned well; each patty receives a slice of American and the proportions are just right. The prices are a bit high, 7.10$ for a meal, but atleast you know it's not frozen, and it's hand made in the back.

The Fries, String fries, alittle to crispy, could stand to work that out, that's a personal opinion though, overall I haven't seen a burnt fry yet. Though the best part is the Freddy's homemade sauce, get the jalapeno you'll be delighted, and it's got just a small amount of heat with lots of flavor, but who am I kidding...you're ordering those Fried Pickles that are extra Salty with light breading.

The Frozen Custard, Huge size for the price, a small is a Large everywhere else, it's fast, it's good, and they have many options.

While not my favorite place, Freddy's certainly achieves what it set out to be, a small, quality Burger place that you can take your Kids to after Baseball practice.

We just left Freddy’s after sitting in the drive thru for 20 minutes, with no food. We ordered single hamburgers and when our total was over $52 and she repeated at the window that we ordered all double Patties, we corrected them and said they were all single Patties. They said they would fix the order and when she opened the window back up she said our total had only gone down by $2. We said nothing, but handed Jaycee (sp?) our debit card to pay and instead she slammed the window and said very rudely, “Have a good day!” Stunned, we continued to sit there not sure what had just happened. She then opened the window again and said, “You’ve backed up our entire line and kitchen!” And refused to take our money and slammed the window again on us and said, “Have a good day!” Nothing like this has ever happened to us and we have no idea what we did wrong in this situation.
