Real to life life-hacks for this restaurant at the end of this review.
Awww, geeze, guys, how have I not written this review yet? This is basically my Monday night "Great beer, amazing food, and cool vibe" place to go. It is also my anytime "It is after 3PM and I want to find a new, good, local beer" place. Oro brews some of the best beers I have had (that are not sours). Their one year anniversary is coming up, which means that they will have all of their legacy brews available at some point. From Boot the Brits to Give Peat A Chance I am excited to have some of their greatest hits come back on tap for a bit.
Life-Hack: Regarding the Monday night food and beer thing: on Monday nights the restaurant down the street (Worth Takeaway) does an off menu special. Holy cow, can they cook some amazing food in that little sandwich kitchen. It starts at 4PM, and is served until it is gone. Basically: you want to be at Oro at 3:30 so you can have a beer and let them know to order the Monday night special for you. Then just sit back, enjoy your beer, and wait for deliciousness to...
Read moreEdit I stopped by because I was in the area and remembered that I liked the King Gus and wanted to take a can to go. It was 6 dollars a can at the time of my original review (about a month ago) and now they are over 8 dollars a can. That's way too much. Since that's my favorite beer from this brewery, I have to dock it stars.
Original review This place is pretty solid. I met the owner and talked for quite a bit. He is passionate and knows his stuff. The beer is solid. I really liked the "give peat a chance" the "king gus" (only sold in cans but is on the level of a church music or hop chowda), and the "trigo suave". The "hopiphany" and the "sabastians porter" were good, but not my favorites. The prices were also reasonable. Happy hour is 2 to 6. They have full size pretzels and bags of chips but food can be ordered from next door or you can bring some in. Come check them out, you won't be...
Read moreIt's hard to believe this place has been open just over a year. Their beer is very, very, good and clearly comes from a mature recipe in the hands of an experienced brewmaster. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, without a hint of the elitism sometimes found in microbreweries. In addition to their own brews, they also have several guest taps from other local breweries. There were a total of 11 unique beers on tap when we visited on 1/5/18. In addition to the great beer available, they've partnered with Worth Takeaway, a sandwich shop a few doors down, to offer a selection of gourmet food options. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich is on a different level. Pair it with a pint of Boot...
