I normally would never write a bad review, especially as someone who has been a bartender and server for 6 years. I know firsthand how hard this industry is and how damaging a negative review can be. That being said, tonight was unfortunately the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant.
From the start, the service was confusing. There were no other guests at the bar, yet two different servers came up to take our drink orders, and then a third person came to take our food order. When it came time to order food, I specifically asked for our appetizer to come out first because it had already been about 30 minutes since they first asked if we were ready to order. We ordered our burgers at the same time, but again, I made sure to clarify that we wanted the appetizer first.
Despite that, our burgers came out first. When we asked about the nachos and reminded them that we had requested those first, the explanation we were given was that “the kitchen makes everything together.” As someone who works in this industry, I know that isn’t true, and that’s exactly why I asked ahead of time for it to be staged properly.
When we expressed our frustration, they did remove the nachos and the incorrect alcohol drinks from the bill, which I appreciated. However, the servers were openly discussing the entire situation just a few feet away from us, which was uncomfortable and unprofessional.
I don’t complain easily, but this was simply a bad experience from...
Read moreThis local watering hole is a hidden gem! Fast service, and it feels like a modern version of the iconic Cheers bar. If you sit at the bar you will likely make a new friend or friends while you gaze upon multiple TVs at the bar and view their wide selections of brown liquors, tequilas/mescals, and a few other great gin options. Or if you want to keep to yourself or your group, they have tables to accommodate a wide variety of members in your party. I was surprised with the prices, as they felt very reasonable with glasses of wine starting at around $6-7, and a small selection of microbrews on tap along with many domestic favorites. Chances are you will encounter Loice (presumably the owner) and if you do; tell her Andy said you have to try the breakfast shot! It’s a real treat with no bite and a fun twist on a tradition liquor shot.
We didn’t check out the menu as we went there after dinner elsewhere, but what we saw on others plates looks great!
If you read any of the other negative reviews, look at the reviewers other reviews, they are not happen with anything they ever review. That’s what prompted me to leave this review, they just went fair or accurate.
To wrap it all up, it’s a fun bar with a friendly vibe and a great selection of booze at reasonable prices. It’s close to our house so we plan on riding a bike for our next visit. Hope to...
Read moreStopped in this afternoon since we saw it was a new business and wanted to support something local. Walked in with 6 people at the bar, 4 at a single table with 3 employees behind the bar. Sat down in the middle of the bar and proceeded to sit for 10 minutes while a bartender stood and visited a couple drinking beers (A position and activity he would remain doing for the length of our stay), one of others attempted to make a Bloody Mary but only got as far as wiping a tall glass and a shaker, and the other one had her head down working the cash register. At no point in our visit were we greeted in any way, no hello, no we’ll be right with you, just silence and avoided eye contact. After 10 minutes I asked if we had done something wrong since we weren’t even greeted let alone offered a service of any kind. The only reply we got was “where were you sitting”, to which I could only answer “directly in front of you”. For a new business in hospitality industry, I was shocked at the smugness, perhaps a qualified professional bartender could come in and train staff on greeting customers, workflow, and general courtesy? If you don’t put a drink in front of someone within the first 10 minutes at a neighborhood bar, you may as well save what you can and find...
