Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory — Restaurant in Mesquite

VISIT: 12/27/24 arrived around 7:40pm

This location was Mildly Busy so keep that in mind when reading this review. FOOD: 5/5 -LIGHTNING FAST, the food was ready in less than 5 minutes, even then it was absolutely scrumptious, the fresh mouthwatering Beef Fajita Burrito* platter was seasoned to perfection, the refried beans were fresh as can be, truly Hot and Fresh!!. SERVICE: 5/5 -Staff were quick to attend me and my plus 1, they were very patient and professional, they answered many of my questions quickly and confidently (questions about food/ ingredient substitutes).

-As mentioned the food was ready LIGHTNING FAST, which is absolutely great if you are in a rush, or have little patience.

-Staff we all working and staying busy, never did i witness anyone slacking around or glued to their phones so that's a plus! BUILDING: 5/5 -The lobby and eating areas were very clean, no spills, smears or any litter of any sort.

-The decor is very "Eye Candy" there is a lot to look at, really ties in well with the music playing, makes it feel like you're not in Mesquite anymore.

-Exterior is very well maintained, clean, free of trash, every time i visit it looks like a brand new location, great job! CONCLUSION: -This location has yet to let me down, their food is always cooked with love and speed! I highly recommend you bring your family, especially if you are Out-of-Towners as well as potential Dates. The folks at this location always wear a smile, and make me feel at home.

Okay, so this is where I get real about my feelings and food. Presentation is EVERYTHING! I visited the Mesquite location with a group from GoodBar Community Center. I had ample time to check their menu online prior to arriving and was a bit hungry, too. I ordered the Combination Nacho plate. I was very disappointed when I placed my order and was asked "chicken or beef"? Huh?! I thought combination was more than one meat on my nachos. Please can someone explain to me the word combination? Because the plate I got looked like slop. My food looked nothing like the picture on their menu, and food was hanging on the sides of my plate. I was very unhappy with this selection, and I didn't finish my food. Look, I get it, texmex or should I say texmess. I brought this to the manager, who was also the cashier who took my order and my money. He basically told me this was not his restaurant, and this is how this order was prepared. I used the analogy of a combination pizza (supreme) with different meats. He just blew me off and went back to what he was doing. Not all Mexican food is authentic, and I have eaten authentic Mexican food. I compared this plate to Taco Bell. I don't eat Taco Bell!! But Rosa's Cafe, you must do better. I consider Rosa one of my favorite places to order food. Today I ordered 2 taco plate one soft and one crispy. When I got home I was ready to relax and eat my tacos. As I was eating I noticed the taco was hard to chew but I didn't worry about it. I kept eating the taco and it was hard to chew so I decided to call and let the restaurant know. I spoke to a lady and she was nice but my phone went out and I couldn't call so I went back to the restaurant. As I arrived I was told it may be a while because they were busy. I told them I would like to speak with a manager. Adrian came up and I told him what was wrong. I told him I would like a refund. Adrian told me many excuses about why my taco was stall and hard to chew. I told him again I wanted a refund he asked for my receipt and I gave it to him but he snatched the receipt out of my hand. The customer at the other register saw what he did. I will not be coming back due to the lack of courtesy, proper acknowledgement and respect.
