During a recent visit to Burger & Philly in Miami Beach, I encountered an alarming combination of unprofessional service and unacceptable food quality, topped by a refusal to provide a refund for inedible food.
The problems began immediately - no one was manning the cash register; so instead, I used the restaurant's self-service kiosk for ordering. After placing and paying for my takeout order, I needed to use the restroom. When I requested the key from the cashier/server who was stocking drinks, she rudely informed me the bathroom was "only for customers." When I explained I had just ordered food, instead of simply asking to see my receipt, she snapped, "Don't speak to me like that." Her hostile response to a simple request was shocking, rude, and completely unprofessional.
The food quality issues were even more concerning. The initial order arrived smelling of rancid cooking oil, with an almost raw hamburger swimming in juice that had soaked the bun. When I reasonably requested a refund for this inedible meal, the server claimed she needed the owner's approval and would text him. I was then made to wait for 30 minutes while other customers were served, with no response from the owner.
Only after this lengthy delay did a manager emerge from the back. While more cordial than the original server, she also claimed she couldn't process a refund - a baffling policy for any food establishment. Left with no choice, I accepted the offer of a replacement meal. The manager added a cookie as compensation, but when I opened the replacement order at a nearby location, the onion rings had the same overwhelming smell of rancid oil. I ended up throwing away everything except the cookie - a waste of both money and an hour of my time.
For any restaurant, but especially one in a tourist area, refusing refunds for poor quality food while displaying such indifferent customer service is inexcusable. The establishment's combination of poor food quality, unprofessional staff behavior, and rigid refund policies makes it impossible...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Burger and Philly in South Beach during the overnight hours, and I can't say enough about the fantastic experience I had, thanks to Carlos and Ariel. Their hospitality was truly exceptional, making me feel welcomed and valued from the moment I walked in.
The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, perfect for a late-night bite. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and it was nothing short of amazing. The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, piled high with melted cheese and fresh toppings, all nestled in a soft, warm roll. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavor that left me craving more.
To top off my meal, I couldn't resist trying the root beer float. It was the perfect blend of creamy vanilla ice cream and fizzy root beer, creating a nostalgic treat that brought back fond memories. The balance of flavors was spot on, making it a must-try for anyone visiting.
Carlos and Ariel went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was memorable. Their friendly demeanor and attentiveness made the late-night visit feel special. If you're in South Beach and looking for a place that serves delicious food with outstanding service, I highly recommend stopping by Burger and Philly. You won't be...
Read moreWhen it comes to a flavorless Philly cheesesteak, it's important to consider a few factors.
Firstly, the flavor of a Philly cheesesteak traditionally relies on the combination of tender, thinly sliced beef, melted cheese, sautéed onions, and sometimes peppers. If the flavor is lacking, it could be due to the quality of the ingredients used or the cooking technique.
To improve the flavor of a bland Philly cheesesteak, you might consider a few suggestions:
Seasoning: Season the beef with a combination of salt, black pepper, and other spices like garlic powder or paprika before cooking. This will help to enhance the flavors.
Sautéed onions and peppers: Make sure that the onions and peppers are cooked properly until they become soft and caramelized. This will add a sweet and savory taste to the sandwich.
Over priced for the lack of flavor might have to check it out in the day time to give them a second chance. I’ll have a tiny hope for them. The onion rings were really good I give them that. They just need to work on incorporating more flavor into the Philly cheesesteak like melting the cheese on the meat and not the bread a little garlic powder or onion powder would have helped. Very filling and content with the portion size but just lacking severely...
