Checked this place out with family due to the great reviews. We had a positive experience overall, but there are definitely some areas for improvement.

Pros: Fun atmosphere, very clean and inviting, with an absolutely gorgeous gelato display! There is a wide variety of flavors. The staff allowed two samples per customer. Perhaps I just had a very generous scooper, but the portions were huge. The little waffle piece on top of the scoop in a cup had a tasty flavor and I imagine that means the waffle cones are good, too. My family agreed this gelato was creamier that normal gelato and we loved that. It reminded me of custard. They have a nice seating area inside and outside on Lincoln Road, both of which were clean. If you're just looking for a quick scoop that tastes good, you don't need to read further. The experience here gets the job done craving your sweet tooth.

Cons: There really should be a size smaller than "small", which is massive. My tip for folks with a small sweet tooth is to split a small with another person to avoid wasting it or getting a stomachache. $8 for a small feels a tad steep at first blush, but for the amount I got it felt right. I'd have much preferred to just had half the amount for half the price, because I ended up just splitting the single with my husband, who chickened out of getting his own after seeing mine. And before the owner comes in and copies and pastes the same answer they always put on a review concerned with the prices, talking about how the cost of labor and ingredients has gone up, consider this model: $5 dollars for a "mini"/"kids", keeping small at $~8. You'd have gotten $10 out of us two instead of $8, and based on the rest of the review section, it's clear a lot of folks would like a smaller size option. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the incredibly shady hidden 16% service fee. And again, no need for a copied and pasted excuse about the increased price of labor. We all know inflation has hit every industry, but that doesn't give you an excuse to slip in the 16% fee and THEN ask patrons if they want to tip. No, no, no. This place had such tasty gelato, a great atmosphere, and helpful staff. Why ruin what could have been a 5 star review by ignoring the advice of all the reviews asking for more size options, and providing a cop out response when being called out your hidden fee? This is a fun place with a great product. But when you have 20 ice cream and gelato places within a mile radius, it's the small things like this that will make folks think twice...
