This evening I had a very unique experience at Di Mauro's. First let me tell you about my appetizer the Caprese w Burrata Cheese. This was a wonderful bite. This Type of appetizer does not normally come with bread but here at Di Mauri's it was served with fresh lightly toasted (sourdough). Unfortunately I did not get a picture. However it was fresh mozzarella cheese filled with burratta cheese, lightly drizzled with balsamic vinegarette on top of a bed of basil leaves with cherry tomatoes. This was great. On to the entrees... I ordered the lasagna... While i'm not an expert I look for lasagna everywhere that I travel. It started off very strong but as I continue to eat it. I noticed that the ricotta was more of a pudding and I could not figure out why it was so wet. It seemed that they may have put Burrata cheese in their mix but I am not sure. I personally would have preferred just a tiny bit more seasoning and flavor in the sauce. My sister ordered the Chicken Parmigiano which she enjoyed. I cut a small piece of the chicken parm because it seemed to be a bit crispy and I was correct around the edges it was a bit burnt which did not taste great. To top it off at the end. I ordered the lemon cello cake and I have to tell you. I would go back to this restaurant just for the lemon cello. It was accompanied with homemade whipped cream and they were both delicious together and apart.
Now to talk about the service ... where should I begin... Guido was our server and I think he may have been new (wink wink). His personality was a bit flat and he was not as attentive as I would prefer. The side salad came with my sisters meal instead of before which is a basic no no and a few times we had to look around for Guido. What was amazing was to see one of his colleagues Jimena offer a high level of support to a table adjacent to ours. They arrived after us and recieved their entrees before we recieved our appetizer. When we asked about desserts Guido rattled off the desserts very quickly and when Jimena's customers asked about desserts she brought over an electronic tablet and introduced the deserts to them in a very different way. So let me quickly recap the appetizer and dessert get 5 stars. The service three stars. There are Conflicting reviews concerning the entrees I give the lasagna 2.5 stars due to the running ricotta/burrata mix and my sister gave the chicken...
Read moreA Delightful Experience! During my recent visit to Di Mauro’s Italian Restaurant & Bar, I had the pleasure of being served by Gabrielle, whose impeccable service truly elevated the evening. From the moment I stepped into the warm, rustic ambiance of the restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat.
The menu was a celebration of Italian classics, and Gabrielle guided me through it with genuine enthusiasm, suggesting dishes that showcased the chef’s creativity. I started with La Salumeria with Focaccia, a vibrant platter featuring the chef’s daily selection of imported charcuterie and cheeses, along with creamy burrata. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors.
For the main course, I opted for the Frutti di Mare Seafood Paccheri, which Gabrielle recommended as a signature dish. It was a revelation—perfectly cooked pasta accompanied by clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp, all sautéed in a light marinara sauce. The depth of flavor was unparalleled.
Gabrielle’s attentiveness shone throughout the evening. He ensured my glass of Chianti Classico was never empty and made thoughtful check-ins without being intrusive. His knowledge of the menu and genuine passion for Italian cuisine added a personal touch to the dining experience.
The meal concluded with a decadent tiramisu paired with a perfectly brewed espresso. It was the ideal ending to an exceptional evening.
Di Mauro’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a destination for anyone craving authentic Italian flavors and warm hospitality. Thanks to Gabrielle, the experience felt like a slice of Italy right in the heart of town. I’ll certainly be back...
Read moreThe set up and decor catches your eye, it's how I stumbled into this spot. It is a little tight inside and it gets really busy on weekends. The staff took care of us well but I felt like there was missed opportunities to make the experience better.
We were seated at a table right by the entrance which was kind of awkward and I lost count of how many times someone bumped into me while sitting at my table for dinner. Second, I ordered an espresso martini cocktail off the drink menu and it seems like it may have been forgotten or lost. I did let the waiter know about this and then was informed that the drink was on the way. The waiter then comes back and tells me there's no coffee to serve the drink after another round of several minutes. At this point, I'm okay with passing up on the drink. Then towards the end of the night after the appetizer and entrees, the drink did arrive.
It did seem a little disorganized inside and it was a busy night but there were some positives about this spot which do make it worthy checking out. The fried burrata special is full of flavor and the mozzarella cheese must be so fresh because it really did taste special having my first bite into this dish. Then I really enjoy the variety of pasta dishes on the menu AND the option to add chicken, shrimp, etc. to each of the dishes is really cool. Also the prices I would consider to be fair, especially for dining in...
