An all-c classic American that offers comfort food and sparkling rays for a smacking sunset view! The vibe and ambiance are pretty casual, hyped by the mood of the all-time hits. Some high-menu items start with their own Guac and chips, that’s the ultimate Tex-Mex statement. Not the best guac & cheese, but it will fulfill your chip craving. The Fisherman's Sampler, which includes Conch fritters, battered cod, coconut shrimp, and fried calamari; is your best shot to try all fried sea appetizers. Surprisingly the conch fritters, and the coconut shrimp outshine the rest. The only downside of this appetizer is the amount of grease, as everything is fried, so sometimes you feel you are just eating the same. Moving into the entrees, say “Yabba-Dabba-Doo!” to this Fred Flinstone rib rack that shines BBQ highlights and crispy french fries. The amount of meat in them will definitely satisfy your carnivorous appetite. Jump into the Grilled Mahi Mahi, served with sunset rice, veggies, and lemon garlic butter. A well-sized portion of a fresh caught off Miami. It tastes very natural, where all the side ingredients just add a subtle scent of twist to it. The Maji Maji Sandwich is the healthy burger you have always looked for. Tender enough on the inside, embraced by soft buttery buns. The chips have a nice crunchy bite to their signature taste. On the other side, the Maji Maji tacos were extremely disappointing. Flavoless, completely raw and lacking taste. Even the cole slaw salad that was ordered as an additional item, didn’t help to pump off some kind of taste. Service depends on the waiter, they are usually overlwhelmed with the number of guest, so if the place is packed, forget about quick response. Nice that it is one of the only places that still validates parking in Miami Beach. If you are up for nice sunset pier views over the Miami Bay Area, sail away at Monty’s with a cheerful drink and hunk to all the cruises departing...
Read moreFood is horrible, waiter looked like the many homeless people you see living on the beach. He was lazy and a liar, others have complained about the same issue; we had 3 tables of co workers that are not all close friends, waiter never told the last customers to arrive that they don’t split bills, which he did say only to the first couple to arrive.. It is written in the menu as well as they don’t accept Apple Pay in fine print that’s hard to see. Even then, we had three seperate tables, he was suppose to at least write a check for each table, he refused claiming they don’t split bills. If you can’t issue three checks for three separate tables, why not just put all the tables in your empty restaurant on one bill! You might as well! The waiter was super lazy, he’s lucky we didn’t delete his included tip. An empty Monty’s in South Beach is a red flag. This place was good years ago when it was an American restaurant. Now, you speak English to the staff there and they answer in Spanish. Looks like a safe haven and more like a third world country restaurant now. What a waste of property, even a simple dish like nachos sucks there. The manager never came to address the issue even though all the staff saw us struggling to try to figure out the hundreds of dollars charged. A few of the people in our group had ordered and payed at the bar, we believe we got double charged for there orders. Notice how no one from the business responds to any review, another red flag, real American business take very much care in customer service. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Not happening in this third world...
Read moreWe came in on a Monday in September and there were only about 3 other tables. Service was decent but only at the beginning. She was prompt at first but we were disappointed with how the service continued. We didn't order any alcohol and after she took our order, she only returned to see if we changed our minds about a drink, which we hadn't. Someone other than our waitress brought the food and a different person cleared our plates. When we asked for our check from the third person, our original waitress brought it, which was the only time we saw her again. I hope they share tips because it's added automatically and our waitress didn't deserve any of it. She never even asked us how the food was. She didn't tell us that the tip was included, we had to ask her. If we hadn't asked, she would've gotten double tipped (which is what so many waitstaff in Miami do-they hope you don't notice and tip like you normally would). She did almost nothing, except for talking nonstop with her chatty coworkers. The manager was sitting behind us eating his dinner and he didn't stop anyone from talking incessantly and didn't encourage any staff members to ask how our food was. There are too many other restaurant choices for us to return here. We ordered the fish tacos, which were dry, and the burger which was only mediocre. Fries were lukewarm and definitely subpar. Food took 20 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant and the fries weren't even hot? C'mon Money's, do better. We didn't order any alcohol. Bill was $55....
