This is most definitely some of the best food we had in South Beach. Chef Blair Wilson truly understands the subtitle balance of sweet, salty and bitter flavors. To start with we had the salted beet salad and it was amazing with chunks of blue cheese, fresh beet and blood orange curd. The entire dish was so well balanced every bite was bliss. I am not a huge fan of frisee lettuce but in this case the bitterness of the lettuce was perfect with the sharpness of the blue cheese and the sweetness of the beets. We also had the pork tacos, which were good, but the best dish of the night was the alligator. Growing up in the south I have had my share of alligator and it has never been as tender as it was at The Social Club but the real star of the dish were the brussel sprouts. I can't stand sprouts but these were probably the best vegetable I have ever eaten. When you go here make sure you get them. We finished with the house made beignets which have a light delicate texture, topped with confectioners sugar and served with a side of Nutella dip and dulce de leche sauce. I don't understand how anyone could give this resultant less than 4 stars. I highly recommend The Social Club if you are visiting...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I spontaneously went to Miami during Covid. I know crazy, especially since we are from California. On our first night, we started looking at reviews for for places to eat since we would be in Miami for a week. A couple blocks from our hotel was The Social Club. We took a Lyft over. We were seated quickly and enjoyed the view of street with tons of people walking back & forth. My boyfriend ordered, The Surfcomber and I ordered, "The" Breakfast Sandwich. Our orders were basically the same thing. The food was put into a to-go container which probably took away from the toasty bread. I liked the concept in the fact that it made it easy to leave when we could & enjoy the rest of the meal on the beach. The food was also very bland. I asked for hot sauce hoping that it would adjust the flavor but it still did not help.
The "bottomless" mimosa was cool, however, my boyfriend & I realized that it was probably better to just order the drink individually. We had found a bug in our drink & they politely gave us another bottle.
Overall it was okay. I'd go back for the warm donuts. Location is convenient and the...
Read moreThe Social Club is located inside the Kimpton Surfcomber hotel and is a great option regardless if you're a guest of the hotel or not.
There's an attractive full service bar and the decor has this cool bright Miami vibe going. The dining area can be seen from the hotel lobby. Our server was attentive and the kitchen got our dishes served to us pretty quickly. The service is on point here at the Social Club.
Cheeseburger: I went with my go to Cheeseburger as I anticipated some heavy day drinking by the beach shortly after. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium as I requested and the cheese and buns were fresh af. The peppered fries came out crispy and tasty as you would want it. Omelet: She was feeling breakfast and the omelet was on point to start the day. Good stuff
The Social Club is a place I'll always consider for lunch or brunch for future visits to South Beach. I was staying at the Kimpton Surfcomber this visit so the convenience of a good restaurant in your lobby is always a nice...
