I found MSMR a few weeks back when I ate at a neighboring restaurant in the same Hialeah strip mall. My interest was piqued when I saw karaoke, and decided to plan out an UYE here (huge thanks to Karen, Marilu & Max for joining!) The menu looked pretty tasty with all of the classics, as well as a large selection of Boba Tea.
They have private karaoke rooms, which I missed out on reserving. From what I was told, reservations need to be made a week in advance. I noticed they have a stage in the main dining room as well; it would be nice if they also allowed guests to showcase our "talents" there as well.
Besides the really friendly wait staff (helpful with recommendations and taking pictures of our group) there's also PEANUT the robot host as well as a few other robot busters. Super cool and high tech! There was Chinese pop and rap music playing on the video monitors also.
As far as food, our group ate tapas / family style. We shared the pineapple fried rice - which made my friend Marilu a partial fan of pineapple in food - with fresh pieces of pineapple, chicken pieces and a rice with the right amount of stickiness. Salted baby corns, spiced up with red pepper flakes, was another tasty tapa. The salt and lemon pepper drummies, also with a hint of spice, with perfectly crispy egg rolls and tender orange chicken not overdone in sauce completed our dinner. Portion sizes were generous enough that Karen & Marilu both were able to have some to go.
Karen & I both had the Portuguese Egg Tart (Macau was once a Portuguese colony #historygeek had a flakey yet crispy crust with creamy filling. My peach boba before the meal was refreshing; I like that they also offer a low sugar version also. As far as stronger drinks, I didn't finish my cold sake. Although I couldn't get the bottle to go, they do have essentially lockers where they hold your bottle service for...
Read morePlace is ordinary with a karaoke private rooms. There were 7 of us but we occupied a bigger room relative to our size due to no more smaller room available for $140 with free 10 drinks, they gave us soda and some water (7 total) the waiter told us we are entitled 10 drinks so we asked for additional 3 bottled water, we keep asking for it maybe 3-4times but never came! Liar!
The $140 room charge includes 2 hours of room occupancy. We ordered lots of food within 15 mins since we came, guess what 2 hours was gone not all food we ordered were served, it came drop by drop. 2-hour marked stop the videoke. Karaoke kept freezing and stopped moving then we kept skipping songs we queued.
I complained since all food were not served and our time was done so the waiter extended 1 more hour to compensate. A couple of orders came 2 hours 45 mins later!!!! We just took it to go!
$350 gone for 3 hours with almost 3 hours cooking ALL our orders, incomplete drink package which were paid for not worth!!!! Not going back and will not recommend either. I should have listened and considered other people’s review. Find yourself a better treat, explore other places or experience the place yourself, you might have a better one....
Read moreWorst place ever. Very racist if you’re not Asian. Walked in and they tried hustling us. Went two weeks before with no problem and rented a room. When we went back they told us high and different prices from the first time we went. Lied about pricing and room availability. Some employees told us one room was available for 500 dollars because it was a special that wasn’t even on the menu. They said that package has been in place for two years but still isn’t on the menu, and when I went two weeks before it was never $500. Changed up their stories about room availability and pricing with each employee we spoke too. We’re lying to our faces and trying to hustle us out of money. There is a better karaoke bar 5 minutes away, don’t waste your time showing up because they aren’t friendly or considerate towards customers. Could tell we were unwelcome and they lied about the pricing and availability to get...
