Baires Grill - Brickell — Restaurant in Miami

My wife and I chose this place for our last dinner in Miami. To say we were disappointed would simply be an understatement.

We each ordered two specialty drinks, Old Fashioned and Watermelon Martini, both of which were great. Unfortunately, this was the extent of what went well and everything went downhill from here.

My wife ordered filet mignon (medium-well) and I ordered rib-eye (medium-rare), along with several sides. When our main course came, my steak was cooked as ordered but my wife's filet was very rare (purple center). We flagged down the waitress after several minutes of waiting for her to check on us and told her that my wife's filet was not medium-well. The waitress looked and agreed. She ended up taking back the filet to the kitchen to be cooked longer. Meanwhile, I chose not to eat mine while waiting for my wife's food to return, which meant not only would my food be cold by the time she returned but so would all the sides. After 15 minutes of waiting, I flagged down the waitress to check on my wife's food and she said she would check. She soon returned with a whole different cut of meat but cooked medium-well. Never were we offered to have new sides delivered or to even reheat them or my meal. By this time, if was a busted meal.

We both ate about half of our meal, left most of the cold sides and during the entire dinner, we were never checked on by our waitress. She eventually just brought us our check (which was over $200), including $11 for tap water and a service fee of 15% on top of the food order. No offer ever to comp us anything. Even an offer to not charge us for the water would have been a nice gesture. We never saw her again and left once the server returned with our credit card.

I would highly advise against this place as they had every opportunity to make this right but failed...

After being let down by the quality of food in a couple of Brickell’s extremely expensive and over hyped restaurants, Baires Grill was a refreshing and welcome change at a fraction of the cost. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming but not over stated. The wife had the Arugula Salad with the Beef Milanese and she loved everything about it, I had the Mussels as a starter and it was delicious if not a little salty, still very good. I had the Ribeye Steak for my main dish which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was tender and delicious, one of the better steaks I’ve had in a quite a while plus excellent Creamed Spinach and perfectly cooked Fries as my sides. We had an early 6:45 pm reservation and there were very few customers when we arrived, unfortunately the only let down was our waitress who was inattentive and quite sullen and seemed to be more interested in chatting and goofing around with the other wait staff who were just standing around not 10 ft from us doing absolutely nothing due to the lack of customers than keeping an eye on us, to the point I had to flag her down just to order drinks and again when we wanted to reorder drinks, this time she forgot about our drinks altogether and I had to remind her, again. My partner and I came to this restaurant on valentine’s day expecting upmost service and to enjoy our dinner. To start off we ordered an appetizer and it never came out, we asked someone 15 minutes later and they came out with the wrong order… 20 minutes later we told the server to cancel the appetizer , she had already canceled without any notice or even asking if we didn’t want the appetizer anymore.

We got the cowboy steak medium well with mash potatoes and when it arrived to the table it arrived medium rare we spoke to a manager and he took it and cooked it some more. we also ordered parmesan truffle fries and got regular fries and our server knew they were regular when we asked her and did not bother letting us know.

The manager tried to offer dessert on the house we declined it and told the manager we had a bad experience and he did not bother asking why…. once the bill came she put the fries on our steak order instead of as the side that comes included in the plate to charge more which is unprofessional and embarrassing considering it was maybe 4-5 dollars more but better for her since it comes with service charge included. regardless we did not make a fuss because it was something small and we wanted to leave already.

The food quality and taste was good but the service was absolutely awful and would not recommend to anyone. They need new staffing in order to make this restaurant worth your while other than that,...
