Came here with two others on a weekday night with an hour and half till their closing. I have been following them through social media and was very excited to try their food, especially since they have some great reviews. When we arrived they were pretty packed but the hostess said fifteen minutes to seat our party of three outside which we didn't mind. While we were waiting she came up and told us that someone was finishing up inside and we could take that table----sure, no problem. She came back and sat us inside which is pretty small and cramped so I wouldn't recommend this place for large parties. We took up two of their small tables put together but while we were overlooking the menu an older gentleman came over and notified us that we had swiped his table and that he was waiting for a friend. We felt awful and the server laughed it off, jokingly stating that we should all share a table. We offered to give the gentleman back his table but he wouldn't allowed it and ended up waiting for another table to finish up. So uncomfortable!
We finally ordered some food to share and went with these rolls: Lime Roll $9: crispy shrimp, cream cheese & salmon topped with thinly sliced lime Samba Roll $12.50: crispy shrimp, avocado & cucumber, topped with fresh tuna & wild caught white fish, finished with our crema de aji Amarillo & cilantro sauce TNT Roll $14.50: avocado, cucumber & real crab salad, topped w/ a heaping mixture of tuna, salmon & masago finished w/ spicy mayo & eel sauce
None of them were very good at all and I honestly felt pretty ripped off since I didn't find any of them enjoyable----the fish didn't taste too fresh either. The only one I leaned towards was the lime roll but the tiny lime slices they includes on top of it still had their skin so it was strange to eat.
Probably won't come back and hope that their hostess gets her act together since the start of our dinner was such an uncomfortable...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this place ever since walking by several months ago. They seem to do a very good happy hour and there is rarely a table available during those times. So opted for the much less busier after happy hour experience.
Our server was polite and helpful and made several recommendations. I think we tried most if not all of them. Many of the rolls can be purchased half size if you aren't too hungry or just want to try more than a few. Another bonus if you like sushi is that you use crab instead of krab in their roles.
There are other things besides sushi here but I was here for sushi without the desire for other menu items. What struck me immediately and not in a good way is that most rolls came with cream cheese. They are happy to take it out but it feels lacking and unimaginative to use cream cheese in your rolls. Had I looked at a menu beforehand I wouldn't have sat down to eat.
The Miami roll without cream cheese was actually quite good, the idea it would be better with cream cheese doesn't seem sane. In the end I didn't dislike this place or the service, but it wasn't what I was looking for...
Read moreI was really disappointed with my experience at Suviche. From the start, the service was poor — our server was noticeably unfriendly and at times even rude, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable.
What bothered me even more was that an 18% service charge was automatically added to the bill. I have no issue tipping well for good service, but when it’s added by default and the service is subpar, it completely removes the incentive for the staff to care. It felt like the tip was guaranteed regardless of the experience — and in this case, the experience didn’t deserve it.
To make matters worse, when I brought it up, I was told the service charge was “included everywhere in Brickell,” which is simply not true — I work in Brickell and dine out regularly, and not all restaurants operate that way.
Unfortunately, I won’t be returning. Good food can’t make up for bad service and...
