It was not a busy Thursday lunch hour. A group was outside, a few singles with laptops inside, an older couple, and our party of four.
Staff well dressed, interior nice, table setting nice.
When we were sat down, I don't understand why our small plates were taken away right when we were seated. Every table had small plates so why were ours taken? Very odd...
Beef empanada - I did not have, but the yucca stuffed shrimp was disappointing. Only two stuffed shrimp for $21? It was way overpriced.
Meatloaf seemed to be portioned for dinner - it was stacked high with three large slices. Flavor was fine but it wasn't hot, more like luke warm.
Chicken alfredo - both were ordered with chicken - one with regular noodles and the other with gluten free noodles. Staff came back to inform that gluten free noodles were unavailable - and our person was fine with regular noodles, but upon arrival, their plate was missing chicken. Staff said because our person was fine without the gluten free noodles, that there was no chicken included - what?! Staff came correct with a plate of grilled chicken, but near the end of our meal. Not really ideal timing on staff's part - this needs to be addressed. Also had to request water twice during our meal.
Overall, it was $137+ total (includes the mandatory 20% gratuity as of 2024), plus an additional nice tip was still provided, given the offbeat circumstance during our time there.
This place did not deserve what we paid, but if the gratuity is mandatory along with their price point, I hope the backend staff can be more in sync with culinary timing, quality and quantity, with front-of-house being more intentional in listening and communicative for local customers and visiting tourists. This was not their best lunch service,...
Read moreI stayed at this establishment with family and was asked to leave disgustingly by the owner. Granted we are unfamiliar with the area we purchased Starbucks and sat in the restaurant with the intention of purchasing breakfast. The owner Damian B. Came over and stated âyou need to get out of my restaurant with that Starbucks. If you wanted to eat it you should have sat in Starbucks and ate it.â Meanwhile, the Starbucks nearby has no seating and we were enjoying our âcomplimentary cocktails.â Again, we totally understand restaurant rules but his cocky and belittling demeanor made the experience unbearable. When I asked for his name he stated it and again trying to make himself superior by stating he is the owner of the restaurant and was abrasive in telling me so. Quite frankly, I only needed his name to make a formal complaint but of course I was presented with nothing but attitude ...
Read moreI visited this place prior to the the Heat game against the Milwaukee Bucks. I had some time to kill.
It's a pretty standard hotel bar with guests walking in and out. It's right near the main entrance, so it's pretty loud and right in the center of patrons checking in and out.
They had some craft beers on the menu, so I happily ordered a Wynwood Brewery Ale. Service was solid. I also ordered chicken tacos, which were delicious (see pics).
On this particular day, the Women's March at Bayfront Park added higher than usual excitement to the bar area. I was engaged in a really solid conversation with a young lady who participated in that event, and she provided a play by play account. Very pleasant conversation.
It should be noted that hotel bars are the best places to meet interesting folks. I enjoyed my visit here and consider it to be viable option prior...
