I’ve been a loyal Chipotle customer for years, regularly visiting various locations across Miami. Unfortunately, my experience at the Miracle Mile location in Coral Gables was by far the worst I’ve ever had. Given the area, I expected a higher standard of customer service, but I left feeling disrespected and frustrated.
I understand Chipotle is a fast-casual dining experience, but that shouldn’t justify rushing or yelling at customers. I briefly looked down at my phone to confirm my girlfriend’s order, and during two of those moments, two staff members loudly said “Hello!” and even waved their hands in my face. When I politely asked for a second to make sure I got the order right, they rolled their eyes, ignored me, and moved on to the next person.
To make matters worse, the manager himself was dismissive. When I approached the cashier and asked if there was a manager available, she pointed to a man standing next to her. I asked, “Sir, can I mention something real quick?” and he bluntly responded, “No, I’m busy.” When I expressed surprise, he sighed and said, “What do you want?” At that point, I simply said “Never mind” and walked out.
This level of customer service is unacceptable. I’ve never felt so disrespected at a Chipotle—or even at fast food chains like McDonald’s or Burger King, where I’ve consistently received better treatment. I won’t be returning, and I won’t recommend Chipotle to anyone. Things have changed for the worse. There are plenty of other businesses that offer similar food with far...
Read moreIt’s amazing how service varies from one shop to another. I visited the Douglas (37 Ave) store today and it was a tragedy. Despite having 6 people serving customers nothing worked as it should. Starting with the first server, he dis not speak english at all. I asked for brown rice he said he did not have it. I took white. Less than 10 seconds later a new batch of brown rice was placed in front of him. When I asked to have brown rice instead of white, he made a face and reluctantly changed my bowl. Again a fastidious face when I asked for broth/sauce with my black beans. They were serving a very small serving of food all along. I’m fine with it as I usually feel that they over serve, but people in the line were complaining. Same thing with the sofritas and the guac guys. Their attitude was that they both want to be some place else. At the cashier, I asked for a spoon, since they don’t carry them at the utensils containers anymore. Again with an attitude I was told “we no longer carry spoons. Only knifes and forks”. As I sit down to eat my food, another worker came in to replenish knives and forks, and guess what, spoons!! Bingo a whole case of spoons they no longer carry.... If Chipotle was a franchise I would understand the lack of a pattern and culture while serving customers. But it is not, so I guess it’s all on the local manager attitude, training and posture. I’ll keep going to the store in S Miami where service is much better. Avoid the...
Read moreChipotle is my weakness. When I need a satisfying burrito bowl in a hurry, they're my go-to. The Coral Gables location on Miracle Mile is conveniently located, but the experience can be hit or miss, particularly during peak hours.
Let's start with the positives. Chipotle's build-your-own customization is its biggest appeal. I love the variety of fresh ingredients – even if some, like the guacamole, cost extra. On a good day, the service line moves like a well-oiled machine, getting you your food quickly and efficiently.
However, consistency is where this location sometimes struggles. During the lunch or dinner rush, things can get chaotic. It seems like the online orders sometimes take priority, leaving in-person patrons waiting noticeably longer. On my last visit, my rice was undercooked, and they skimped a bit on the protein portion.
Despite these inconsistencies, the flavor usually wins out. Chipotle's ingredients are reliably tasty, and there's something addictive about their spicy salsas and smoky barbacoa. It's not gourmet dining, but it hits the spot when you have that craving.
Overall, Chipotle on Miracle Mile is a decent option for a quick, casual meal. If you're willing to brave the potential crowds or order ahead online, you'll likely be satisfied with their signature bowls and burritos. But if you're looking for a more relaxed experience or have time to spare, there are plenty of other dining options along Miracle Mile...
