The New Italian Star in Coconut Grove!
Da Angelino is, without question, the BEST Italian restaurant in Coconut Grove—and very likely in all of Miami. The food is as authentic as it gets: no “Americanized” shortcuts here, just real, honest Italian cuisine.
Some of my current favorites include the Spaghetti alle Vongole with bottarga, Vitello Tonnato, Patagonian carpaccio, Rigatoni al Ragù di Agnello, and the Linguine ai Frutti di Mare. Each dish bursts with flavor and feels like it was crafted straight from an Italian kitchen.
The desserts are to die for. The Deconstructed Tiramisu is hands down the best I’ve ever had, and the Nutella Bomba is simply unforgettable.
The wine list is excellent—thoughtfully curated and well-balanced, with something for everyone. Even the most affordable bottles are outstanding, which says a lot about the quality of their selection.
Service is absolutely superb. From the moment you walk in, you feel at home. The staff guides you through the menu with genuine passion, explaining dishes and offering spot-on recommendations. Plates arrive at a perfectly measured pace—not rushed, not slow—allowing you to enjoy each course as it was meant to be.
The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of the Grove. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with tasteful décor that’s elegant without being overdone.
Overall, Da Angelino delivers an outstanding dining experience. We’ve already gone back more than once, and I can confidently say this will be our go-to spot whenever that Italian...
Read moreI was waiting for the usual “How was your experience?” email from OpenTable to leave my feedback, but it seems I won’t have that chance. The restaurant marked my reservation as canceled after my dining experience, likely because they knew exactly how the evening went.
Just an FYI, and this comes directly from OpenTable, when a reservation is marked as canceled it prevents you from leaving a review for that experience.
To be transparent, the food was about a 4/10. The salad was watery, the octopus was served cold, and the risotto was undercooked. On the positive side, the bread and overall hospitality were good. I wasn’t even going to mention the roach on the ceiling but since the restaurant went out of its way to cancel my reservation and silence my review, here we are.
I normally only leave reviews when my experience is either outstanding or extremely disappointing. If Da Angelino hadn’t tried to save themselves from an honest review by a paying customer, not one of those Miami food influencers paid to say whatever the restaurant wants, I wouldn’t have bothered as this restaurant wasn’t worth my time to leave one. Do yourself a favor and go to Mister 01...

From the pastas to the seafood to the appetizers, every dish felt thoughtfully prepared with quality ingredients and real attention to detail. What makes it even more special is Angelo, who runs the restaurant with such warmth and passion. He has a way of making every guest feel at home. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, the kind of place that works just as well for a date night as it does for a family dinner. If you're looking for amazing food paired with genuine hospitality, you must try this new spot. It's the kind of restaurant you'll want to keep coming back to--and one I'll be recommending to...
