Food The sushi was pretty mid. The tuna was minced, which was unacceptable for $20 a roll and basic sushi… like we aren’t talking specialty rolls here. This was a basic rolls and it had minced tuna, like how cheap of a restaurant do you have to be to serve minced tuna, so that’s poor quality sushi rolls in my experience. The yakisoba was better than sushi. The nigiri prices were straight rip off so we didn’t order it. Service All of the food was ordered at the same time (5 ppl) yet it all came out at separate times and super delayed with an empty restaurant. One person didn’t even get their food until really really late after everyone was done eating, another person ordered hot water and it took 20 minutes to get. We were there at 6:30 PM in the middle of the week and it was totally empty restaurant. I guess this restaurant isn’t very good if people don’t come to it during the prime dinner hour. That was my clue that maybe this place isn’t that great, at sushi anyway. Atmosphere was mid also. There are hanging fish on the ceiling and they were all really really dusty. They need to clean those. They thought they were cool when they put them up but they forgot that you actually have to clean the 400 fish you left on the hanging from the rafters Price If you want to fill up I’d say it’s about 75-100 bux a person. If you’re drinking alcohol add $30.

Interesting place, excellent service, good food, the sushi? Bad, at least that's how it happened in my visit last Saturday, September 10, 2022/ 7:30 PM - Finding a good sushi place is not an easy task, and I am always on the lookout for the best and most succulent rolls. I have had incredible surprises in unexpected places. So when I go to sushi garage I expect their main course, the sushi, to be up to par or good. Well, I asked the waiter Mateo (Mathew) for the best sushi, and we ordered several, eight different ones and other dishes. To our surprise, plastics such as tacos, pinchos, and others are perfect, but what about sushi? Much to my regret, I must say that this is not the best place to eat sushi. The rolls are bland and lacking in flavor and not to mention the prices, exorbitant/expensive, if you compare the quality, dear reader, to give you an idea at our table of four, we ended up paying almost $400 included some drinks and food. Note- They don't have fans outside so the heat is unbearable (including at night) not only for customers but also for employees, who by the way provide excellent service. I recommend eating inside because the atmosphere is more pleasant and welcoming.

I went for Happy Hour and a short stop before dinner somewhere else and I had a great time. Met actor Cuba Gooding Jr at the bar and took a selfie with him so that was the highlight of the evening. Alfredo the bartender was just awesome and attentive and I just tried a few things on the HH menu and a few Kyushiki cocktails which is the Japanese version of an old fashioned made with a top shelf Japanese sake. They didn’t have the crispy bok Choy which was highly recommended but I did get to try the bacon asparagus dish with mushrooms and the pork belly. Now I am not a fan of mushrooms but this dish was so appetizing that I didn’t even care to munch on the mushrooms, head and all. The way this bacon’s natural flavor cooked in the wok with the crispy asparagus was one of the most mouthwatering dishes I’ve ever tasted, is an understatement. Have to come back to try that famous crispy bok choy and the ribs also recommended by Alfredo. Ambiance is nice and there’s plenty parking in the area.

My husband and I used to love Sushi Garage's happy hour when it first opened and we lived within walking distance. It was well-priced, high-quality food and the extended hours were awesome. On a whim we decided to visit our old fave. Sadly our meal was a huge disappointment. Here is why:

the prices have gone WAY up. We each had a HH cocktail, shared a carafe of sake, and got a bunch of HH dishes and one noodle dish off the regular menu. It was $260 for two people. FOR HAPPY HOUR. A 1/2 roll of spicy tuna is more expensive than 50% of the full roll on the normal menu. How does that make sense? Customers pay a premium for a smaller portion as a HH deal?

the food is not nearly what it used to be. The quality of the fish was decent on the sushi, but the rolls were equivalent to grocery store rolls. Plus, they arrived at the table less than a minute after ordering, so they were clearly pre-made. For the equivalent of a $22 spicy tuna roll (!!), I atleast want to feel like you are making it fresh. We ordered soba noodles off the dinner menu with chicken instead of the HH option that's just noodles, based on the suggestion of our server. It was inedible. Food court quality (BARELY) with very dry cut up chicken breast thrown on top. Our server noticed we didn't touch it. We told him it really wasn't good and not to bother wrapping it up. He did nothing with that information.

the portions are tiny now. Our two happy hour drinks each had an oversized ice cube in the center, but the cocktail poured around it didn't reach halfway up a short rocks cocktail glass (and they were mixed drinks, not straight pours). They each had two big sips. The crispy gyoza had three tiny pieces in a small soup bowl of sauce, but all you tasted was a mouthful of fried dough. They were so small and doughy that the protein was unnoticeable.

The weirdest part is that Resy didn't show any reservations at our desired time on a random Monday night so we made a slightly later reservation figuring we would just show up early ... and when we did the restaurant was empty. Now I know why. What a total bummer. Back in the day, this place...

WORST SERVERS LENA & MIGUEL!!!! Terrible, Terrible, Terrible Service! Humiliating nonetheless. I came to the restaurant during my lunch hour. I ordered a ginger ale and asked the waiter about the Chicken Teriyaki Box, she explained and I said I would like to order that. As I’m sitting waiting on my order I noticed other orders coming out curious to when mine would come out. Lena my server stated she didn’t place my order she thought I didn’t want it and was just asking about the meal. She never came back to check and see if I wanted to order or if she could take the menus away if I didn't want to order that's how much nonattentive she was. I allowed her to place the order even though it was no accountability on her behalf with not placing the order in the first place but rather gave an excuse. I sat there in disbelief still willing to try the Chicken Teriyaki Box until I got up to seek a manager to explain the unsatisfied service I received. I was told no manager was on call until 3:00p.m. but Miguel who insisted he could help actually escalated the situation in the worst manner. I explained to him I was unsatisfied with my service and he insulted me with stating you have to wait for the food to come out without allowing me to explain my food was never placed to begin with. For him to speak to a customer in that manner and tell me "I need to wait for the food to come out" I told him and Lena standing nearby cancel the order I will not be treated or talked to in that manner. I was calm, I wasn't expressing the frustration from the negative service from the both. I walked away and they lost a customer who I did go a few times before. I would never go to this restaurant again and I recommend you find another server outside of Miguel and Lena if you do decide to go! lastly, her attitude was already terrible to begin with. If you don’t like where you work...

Title: Exceptional Dining Experience at Sushi Garage!

Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi Garage, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service provided by bartender Alexis truly elevated our evening.

From the moment we walked in, Alex greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. His knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot-on, ensuring that we had an unforgettable culinary journey. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.

The sushi at Sushi Garage was simply divine. Each piece was expertly crafted, showcasing the freshest ingredients and delicate flavors. The presentation was a work of art, and it was evident that the chefs take great pride in their creations. The variety of rolls and sashimi options catered to all tastes, and we were blown away by the quality and taste of each dish.

The ambiance of Sushi Garage was also worth mentioning. The sleek and modern decor, combined with the dim lighting, created a cozy and intimate atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a memorable evening with friends or a romantic date night.

Overall, I cannot recommend Sushi Garage enough. The combination of exceptional food, attentive service, and the expertise of bartender Alex truly made this dining experience one to remember. If you're a sushi lover or simply looking for an extraordinary culinary adventure, Sushi Garage is the place to be. I will definitely be returning...
