It was the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant, we had reservations for 4:00 it was my birthday celebration. From the minute we sat down I felt it that it was going to be a bad experience, we were sitting for a good 10 minutes before anyone one came to talks to us. Yes they did give us water but said nothing he just poured the water, he never said someone will with you he did not even spoke. I see all these people standing around talking and having no care in the world about the customers, then this waiter look over to our table said something to one of the other waiters who he was all standing around talking to. Then he came over to our table did not say his name no smile no nothing like he was doing us a favor, was very unfriendly I would say he was in the wrong business, was so dry make no small talk just took the order make no suggestion and ask no questions. The worst waiter I thought he was a manager just helping out, that was the end of him he never came back to the table again he past he look he said nothing if we needed something we had to ask someone else. For a minute we did not know who was waiting on us, I had just had it and I had to speak up I could not take anymore, I donāt know who this guy think we where, we where well dress we are decent people I was there with my husband, son and daughter and he was disrespecting us I feel. He was too busy flirting with the girls and acting like a pretty boy, I was so mad I could have just walk out of there. I got the attention of another guy and let him know exactly how I feel and that we are not being treated right, he said he was the manager and that incompetence guy was one of his best worker I had to laugh I could not believe that someone would want to own that, he try to make excuses for him which only explains why the service was so horrible. Then he took over and was doing the other useless one job, I was not look for free meal I donāt like that, I have worked in the service industries for over 30 years so I know what good customer service is suppose to look like. We spent a lot of money and thank God we can afford it so I wanted no favors from them, after the bill was paid he had the nerves to give my husband a $25:00 gift card thatās not even any where close to the awful service we receive. No one could pay me to go back there so that card is in the garbage thanks for nothing. I will make everyone know what a awful place and how terrible the service was, maybe it was the color of my skin that make us get that very very service I would not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJaguar is a restaurant situated in the heart of Coconut Grove. It is one of the favorite hangout place for people in the area.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a big smile and friendly service and every time we go there, we immediately felt comfortable. As you enter the place, a magnificent setting welcome you.
The menu offers a wide variety of mouthwatering starters and very exquisite. We love that the menu is quite small and uncomplicated. All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of homemade food. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients and you can taste the difference in comparison to some other restaurants
We had a pleasant lunch experience with food of the most exquisite flavors. This is by far our favorite restaurant in Coconut Grove. We go all the time for our birthday celebrations!
And, the staff are lovely and can help with the menu. The service is always wonderful and the food is amazing.

While looking for the best Latin American option in the area, we stumbled upon this place. With a nice tropical decor, the restaurant seemed like a great spot for a laid-back yet chic brunch. We kicked off our meal with some sangrias and Vuelve a la Vida Ceviche. The sangria had a twist, featuring a few blueberries instead of the usual lemon bitsā it was different, but still refreshing. The ceviche was a real catch. Bathed in a spicy tomato sauce, the seafood was of high quality, and I especially liked the calamari and red onions combo.
We shared three entrĆ©es, and both the Lomo Saltado and the Pork Pernil were solid. The Lomo Saltado was comparable to the ones Iāve had in good Peruvian Chinese restaurants in other cities. The latter featured tender roasted pork pieces with a balanced flavor profile, thanks to the guava sauce and pickled onions. Unfortunately, the Fried Rice Chaufa was overly salty, and the Mahi Mahi on top intensified the saltiness. While the fried egg provided some balance, it wasn't enough to offset the overall saltiness.
Although I'm not well-versed in the Latin American food scene in this area, Jaguar Restaurant definitely seems like a great option for those seeking casual yet elevated Latin American cuisine. Service was also better than most of the restaurants weāve been to in Miami, and I recommend...
