I come here all the time. Despite it being on the pricier side and the food being good (not great but never bad), I found the ambience is lovely and the staff is nice. For a long time, I exclusively worked here. Today was my first day back in a bit and I’m writing this quite distraught. We sometimes bring our dog, as many people do. Unfortunately today she had an accident because we didn’t realize her stomach was upset after getting her vaccines. I immediately asked for cleaning supplies and got on my hands and knees to clean it up myself. I didn’t even ask for any help from the staff because I wanted to make things right. The two other guests sitting near us were extremely nice and one even offered to help me. The moment I finished, they told me that we had to leave because the owner was watching the camera footage. I was a bit surprised but said okay we would leave the moment my husband was finished with his work call (important so he couldn’t leave early). They started asking for how long it would be etc etc and that the OWNER told them we had to leave immediately. I obviously wanted to bring our dog home so she could rest but I didn’t want to leave without my husband. I got myself together and left with the dog, without waiting for my husband to finish his call, and without finishing the most recent drink I had ordered. I’m so hurt because I tell everyone how wonderful this place is. I feel terrible that my dog had an accident, but a few months ago someone else’s dog threw up right next to my foot and they were allowed to stay in the cafe. I’ve consistently been a loyal customer because of how comfortable I felt there and today I left crying because I was so humiliated. I feel like I lost a place that was one of my favorites in Brickell. To the barista that apologized, thank you. To the owner that called their employees and demanded that they kick out one of your most loyal customers, and demanding that it happen immediately without even letting us get ourselves...
Read morelet's start with the tl;dr version: itsi is a great place to get some pretty good coffee and excellent food, though parking may be an issue.
the coffee is basically two espresso blends. i had the seasonal one (secret amigos, i think) for my americano and it had nice depth and good notes. pretty good coffee!
the matcha latte was somewhat weak - too much milk, not enough matcha tbh. that was the only non-hit of the visit though!
for the food: the sandwiches were great! i had the proscuitto di parma, and two others from our party had the moroccan (vegetarian option) and another italian one (started with an s, sorry i can't recall the rest) and they were all exceptional. the empanadas, both vegetarian and meat, were also hits.
we went here when it stormed as we were about to get to vizkaya for a visit but this place is a great option for you to visit.
the issues: service was a little lacking; the barista was great but the people making food were chatting and making merry as we waited to eat - thankfully it didn't take too long. the other issue was parking: they had an event the night before and had run out of validation, which meant the valet parking gave us trouble wanting to charge full price... and we took the valet option because we had a baby with us. which get me to my next point.
this is a nice hip spot. maybe on non-cold days, sitting on the patio with a baby would be nice. on this cold day, however, and with a stroller, we barely fit into the shop - it's TINY. not for big parties - but could for 2-4 friends to sit together to chat.
overall, i highly recommend itsi if you're...
Read moreAfter driving in horrible traffic 20 mins then the pursuit for parking, then a hike to get here because the menu says they have Thai ice tea and boba tea... Well first she says no they don't have. I pointed it out on their actual menu in store, to which she indicates that he is working on a large order but asks the barista who insdicates he can do thai tea. But they have no Boba. I wait for the tea and it tastes like coconut. He crossed the 2 milks in preparation. Additionally, with such high end machinery, WHY ARE YOU USING INSTANT THAI ICE TEA MIX??????HORRIBLE!!! COMPLETE Madness!! You should have your essentials, ALL OF THEM prepped on opening!! "No tapioca right now" is NOT acceptable, you are a coffee and tea shop!! People literally have to make GREAT EFFORT to reach your establishment, GET IT TOGETHER to serve your customers that take care of you!! Lastly, stop using that TRASH INSTANT GARBAGE while charging ultra premium prices claiming to be a healthy...
