Jamaican here 🤓. It's just an unspoken rule in our culture that the reasons why people get away with being rude in restaurants is that the food is SO good that they can act however they want because they know people are going to come regardless. We got two wraps, one bbq and one jerk. My mom was asking the girl with braces questions and instead of answering she was singing along to the music, huffy, irritable...and as a jamaican I mean yeah, that's our jam but make sure the food is on point if you're going to act like that. I was surprised that the wrap was just a literal cold tortilla. The jerk chicken was good it was authentic! the sauce was really good and flavorful (i actually asked for more and they later acted like it was such a big deal to spend $2 on sauce) , the bbq chicken was good and the wraps were fresh. However, the young man who was also working there was just frankly very rude almost aggressive and as a Black woman i don't use that word for no reason because I know it holds a lot of weight. The only polite person was the girl at the cash register , with glasses and curly hair. She was very polite but by the time we checked out I was already over the experience. Perhaps it's because I'm jamaican and wanted to be proud and support and I heard of this restaurant in California, it was just underwhelming and frankly disappointing. Shout out to the chef, he was very nice, and the food is GOOD don't get me wrong it's solidly good but- perhaps the way it's prepared in the front matched with their attitudes made it just...

I asked if they have any patties at the moment and he made me repeat myself about 7times until the girl came in to help. I asked for a jerk chicken bowl in which the same thing happened and I had to repeat my order multiple times while raising my voice. They kept asking me “is that it” as if they had enough of me but I didn’t even order my full bowl yet. I literally just got rice and chicken into the bowl and they rushed to asked me if that was it? Then a simple water is all I asked for and the girl rolled her eyes and chuckled at her coworker like it was some kind of insane question. This was the attitude they kept portraying, as if everything was too much for them and that everything I was doing was to be mocked. And on top of the ridiculous pricing for this horrendous take on jerk chicken, that meat was as dry as a dessert. They actually didn’t even give me a utensil, I had to go in AGAIN and get a utensil to which the girl rolled her eyes again and said “A FoRk?!?!?!?” Like yes young lady, a fork… the thing you eat food with? I wanted to give some to my friend as well so I asked for 2 in which she decided to give me the upset look like it was the end of the world for asking for a fork. No free public parking with a meal that’s well over $30 btw. Definitely NOT worth it. If those two are reading this you’re ridiculous and I hope...
Read moreOMG! Talk about great tasting food and amazing service! This place does it all and does it all right. Walking in the door felt like coming home in the sense that everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. I must add that I witnessed the staff being so patient and tentative with customers who weren’t too familiar with the Jamaican cuisine culture. That says a lot about the people who work here. I visited this location yesterday and absolutely loved and had to return just because the service was so great and the food was beyond expectation. Daniella (little Dani) was so helpful and friendly. She was extremely professional and very knowledgeable about the various dishes available. She truly made it feel as if I was home and had everything available to me. Today I was served and assisted by Willie who was a phenomenal guy and was super helpful. He elaborated about what I can expect from the dish I ordered given the various spices that are used in its making. Yesterday I had the curry chicken with white rice and today I had the oxtails with rice and peas. The chef, Samantha is killing it back there in the kitchen!! She actually popped out of the kitchen while I was inquiring into the recipe and other ingredients. She was extremely polite and friendly as well. This establishment has done a great job of hiring a solid team of kind hearted professionals who are also passionate about their craft. Great job Daniella (lil Dani), Willie and Samantha!!...
