Marion Miami – A Whole Lot of Hype with No Seat at the Party
My husband and I rolled into Marion Miami on our regular date night, looking and smelling like money. He had made reservations in advance—because one thing we absolutely don’t do is wait. We walked in like we owned the place, all dressed to kill, expecting to be seated right away… but Marion had other plans.
Even with our reservation, we were told to wait. So we slid over to the bar—because what’s a delay without a drink? I ordered the Passionista (which lived up to its name and was genuinely good), while my husband kept it classic with his signature Henny and Amaretto. Vibes were building, we were still optimistic.
20 minutes later, they finally took us to our table… outside.
Now, let me paint the picture: we had walked past that empty patio when we first arrived. Empty. The same patio they ended up seating us at—AFTER the wait. Meanwhile, all the music, lights, live show, and Instagram-worthy madness was popping off inside. You know that feeling when you’re invited to a party but made to watch it through the window? Yeah. That was us. On the outside looking in, sipping disappointment.
So we did what any pair of overdressed, underwhelmed people would do—we ate.
We started with the daily special: crunchy rice with salmon and the spicy edamame. The crunchy rice? Phenomenal. Crispy, flavorful, addictive. The kind of bite you close your eyes for. If I had known this would be the peak of my night, I would’ve savored every morsel like it was my last supper. The edamame? Meh. Not bad, but I prefer my beans out of the pod and less of a workout.
Then came the main courses. We both ordered steaks—mine was skirt, his was something fancier I’ve already forgotten. Both were… forgettable. Bland, dry, and lacking any soul. Where was the seasoning? The sizzle? The flavor that screams “Miami”? It never showed up.
For dessert, we tried to sweeten the mood with a white macadamia nut cookie and pistachio ice cream. Cute in theory. But the cookie tasted more like a dinner roll and less like a dessert. A hard pass.
Now here’s the one shining light of the night: Jonathan, our secondary server. Although Juan was technically our server, Jonathan made the night bearable. He kept our drinks flowing, checked in on us like we mattered, and gave us the kind of service that almost made us forget we were banished to the patio. If Marion ever gets it together, it’ll be because of people like him.
Final verdict? The food? Mid. The vibes? Missed. The experience? Disappointing.
Unless you specifically request to sit inside, you risk being left out of the magic while everyone else dances in fog, flashing lights, and full sensory overload. Meanwhile, we were stuck outside catching secondhand smoke instead of a second round of fun.
Would I go back?ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Not unless Jonathan opens...
Read moreIt was a little challenging to make a reservation for my husband's birthday; maybe it is because his birthday falls on the spring break. Anyway, there was a little bit of confusion about the reservation time. I made a reservation at 7 pm for six people and wanted to modify the number of individuals attending dinner. I wanted to add four people. One of the hostesses from Marion called me to reconfirm my 7 pm reservation at 5:46 pm. On the phone, I informed her of the change and that 2-4 members of my party will be arriving at 8:30 pm. She informed me that the reservation has a limit of 2 hours and they don't serve big parties. Also, if we arrive more than 15 mins late, my reservation will be canceled. I asked her can we push it to 9 pm, she humbly decline. After going back and forth on the phone, I truly believe that she changed the reservation to 8 pm. I guess I misheard her. Once we arrived at 8 pm, we discovered that our reservation was canceled because it was 7 pm. I informed one of the hostesses and the one that I spoke to on the phone that I thought we arrived to change my reservation at 8 pm and we drove an hour to celebrate my husband's birthday. I also have people coming at 8:30 that drove more than 3 hrs to celebrate with us. They were able to arrange a table for my husband and me after begging. Unfortunately, my party members did not receive my messages that I sent for them not to come because the signal is horrible in the restaurant, and they arrived. Now we have a total of 10 people and only 2 people are seated. The hostesses claimed that all they were fully booked and cant seat them. So the remainder of my party decided to wait outside. While my husband quickly finishes our dinner to join our guests, we realized three big empty reserved tables. These tables were empty throughout the entire night. I was upset that no staff member decided to call the people who reserved these big tables. It didn't make any sense to me. You have people in a restaurant, an d you are saving tables for people who didn't even keep their reservation. I expected better customer service and food quality in a high-end restaurant, especially when I spent 2k. I would got recommend this restaurant.

Read moreMade reservations at Marion Miami for a birthday dinner. Our reservation was for 10:30 pm, we valet parked our vehicle for $25.00 and walked in, the hostess greeted us warmly and advised that the remainder of the party would need to be there before they sat us. I ordered a drink at the bar and this was at about 10:25. The remainder of my party arrived at 10:35 and they sat us down at 10:46 pm, our waiter stopped by our table at 10:46 pm and said he would be with us shortly. At 10:55 pm the waiter took our appetizer menu then grabbed the menus and stated that he was taking them so we can eat comfortably. At 11:05 pm the valet attendant brought our keys back which was an indication that something was wrong because the venue should have been open until 3:00 am. At 11:15 pm the waiter came back and started to take our dinner menu and while taking the dinner order who I would assume was the chef angrily called the waiter over and spoke to him while pointing back at the table and stormed off. At 11:25 the waiter returned to the table with the hostess and announced the kitchen closed at 11:00 pm and that if we wanted to they could give us meat and the only side available was fries and the chef had left the building. I flew in from Houston, TX to celebrate with friends and family in Miami, FL. Had I known that I would experience the level of disrespect covered with racial profiling I would never have even made the reservation. Marion Miami is in Brickell, located essentially in Miami, FL which is considered a melting pot of diversity with people from all over the world crossing paths. If I can say something it would be Marion’s handling of our reservation wasn’t just subpar; it was an overt betrayal of trust, warranting public disclosure and severe scrutiny. In an industry where reputation is currency, Marion’s actions served as a flagrant devaluation of its own brand after what we witnessed from the server, chef and hostess. To prospective patrons contemplating a visit, I strongly advise proceeding with extreme caution. IT IS 2023 and although in Miami, FL the racial undertones were...
