Pretty good sushi—but only for those of us that got our meals after waiting well over an hour.
So, party of four, seated right away. It’s a little past eight and the restaurant’s pretty empty. The waiter is nice, and we each ordered a salad or soup and two sushi rolls.
But the food was really slow. Like, REALLY slow. It took 20 minutes to even get a miso soup. Then, with the rolls, he’d bring them out one at a time per person, and with a LOT of time in between. An hour or so after we got there, one of us was getting her first roll, and one hadn’t gotten food at all. We were there for well over an hour and a half, nearing two hours, when we ended up cancelling the last two rolls and leaving.
Our waters were never refilled, even when we asked, and one of the rolls brought out was shrimp instead of salmon. When we said it was wrong and the meal ordered didn’t have shrimp, the waiter tried to show us the menu and say we were wrong. (We weren’t.) Being brought the wrong food isn’t really a big deal, that happens, but being brought the wrong food after waiting for an HOUR and then being told it was right…. they offered to remake it and that’s when we decided we’d rather leave than wait another twenty plus for them to maybe make it right this time.
I‘d personally have expected more of an apology or even, like, acknowledgment, when your customers literally cancel their order to go get food next door. I don’t know what was going on back of house, and the food that made it to the table was fine, but it was definitely frustrating.
Plus, gratuity was added, which wasn’t clear on the menu or the receipt (which in fact suggested amounts for 18% and 22% tips). I’m glad we caught it, or we’d have ended up leaving the equivalent of a 40% tip on a really subpar experience.
ALSO, and not contributing to the rating—the music was literally EXCLUSIVELY bad covers of good songs?? What a...
Read moreMost disappointing Ramen I’ve ever had sadly ;-;
I usually finish entire bowls of ramen down to the last noodle and last drop of broth, but I just couldn’t finish it here :(
Broth tasted like it from a powder, tonkotsu was thin and stringy, and egg was just a regular, straight up hard boiled egg instead of a soft boiled ramen egg like you'd get at pretty much every other place that sells ramen…
Nice staff though ❤️
Edit: to reply to the owner, I said everything was okay since I didn't want to be a Karen about it (which I'd imagine most restaurants would appreciate). I think leaving an honest review online would be far better and nicer than blasting you guys on the spot. Also, I acknowledged in my last sentence, with a heart emoji, that you had a nice staff because of it. Thank you so much for offering me to come back for free, but I ate the food so I'm willing to take the loss (plus home is far away).
I'm not judging your ramen based on your own standards of quality or your own expectations. I'm judging it based on the quality and expectations that one would receive at most ramen shops.
I'm sure you have amazing sushi based on the reviews. I rarely ever post reviews, but I had to post one specifically about your ramen for future searchers' purposes since no one else really talked about your ramen. This review isn't an attack on your business - it's just letting people know what to expect if they...
Read moreDined in for the first time and was pretty disappointed given the average rating on Google. When we first walked in it was packed which I thought was a good sign, but I soon realized it’s because the kitchen and service was extremely slow. The food was decent, but it took 45+ minutes for an order of spring rolls and one basic sushi roll. We had to flag down the server (or anyone we could find) just to get water, chopsticks, refills on drinks, checking on our food, and the bill. They must have a lot of online orders but should still give attention to dine in guests. 3 stars instead of 2 because the food is decent, but you’re better off ordering delivery instead of dining in and paying the included gratuity for...
