DON'T be fooled by the cute decor and curb appeal that this restaurant puts out there. I was so excited to try this place out, and I was disappointed within the first 15 minutes. I honestly wish I had just gotten up to leave instead of ordering food. There are sooo many amazing places in Midtown/Wynwood and I wish I had spent my money elsewhere.
For starters, I'd give the food 3 stars, and the service 1 star.
The service was HORRIBLY slow. I arrived by myself and was seated immediately. It was a Tuesday night around 8:30pm, and there were only 4 tables occupied, 3 of which had only one person seated (myself included). So there were MAYBE 10 people in total at the restaurant. All of this considered, I never got water (I eventually asked for it after 30 minutes) and I sat twiddling my thumbs by myself waiting for the male server to eventually come around and take my order. He couldn't have cared less about his job or the people waiting for him to come around to their tables. He would stand around chatting with coworkers or just....stand there....consequently delaying bringing out food to the table with a handful of people. I noticed that 4/6 people at the table got their entrees, but the other 2 were left waiting an additional 15 minutes until their food came out. Yikes. Not a place for groups, I guess?
After finally ordering my appetizer and an entree, it took forever to get my food out to the table -- which makes me curious how long it takes for customers to get their food when the restaurant is crowded. My meal finally came, but wayyyyy before the super simple appetizer that I ordered, which eventually arrived 15 minutes later. The server never checked if I liked the food (I like the entree, hated the app -- which is saying something because I rarely come across a food I don't like).
I sat and ate my food while the empty tables around me had trash and empty plates sitting on them during the entirety of my time at this restaurant. Talk about a vibe kill.
I went to this restaurant excited to try it and eager to bring friends here, but the abysmal service and bland food has convinced me otherwise.
If you do decide to go here, the falafel bowl isn't half bad -- a little dry but a good quantity of food for the $17 price tag. The tapioca bites on the other hand....never again. It definitely felt like they sacrificed flavor & yumminess for the sake of "making something unique". It was like the wayyyy lesser version of fried tofu bites. Instead it was like biting into soggy, bland, slightly...
Read moreWe went here for brunch, the food was great, the place is very cute and clean. However, the reason I rated this a 2 is because we got there at 11:40am for our reservation, they sat us down, we ordered our food which was great. When they take our plates we wanted to order mimosas and a dessert to wrap up and the waiter approached us and said “really sorry to do this but we have a reservation at 1pm for a party of 12 and we need this table so we need to ask you guys to leave.” This was around 12:50pm, we had barely been there for an hour!!! I was MIND-BLOWN! I’ve never had this happen to me. We had just been brought our mimosas, my friends and I took one sip before they asked us to leave. I asked the waiter if she expected us to chug the rest of our mimosas and she just looked at me with a blank stare. I told her we were not done yet and were going to order dessert, and she said we could take them to go 😳💀😱 I’m still in disbelief. She didn’t offer to give us another table, just said we need this one so we’ll bring you your bill now. I asked her to remove the mimosas because I wouldn’t be chugging it and then they tell me the 18% gratuity is already included. Which of course makes sense why she didn’t care to ask us to leave. Safe to say I won’t ever be...
Read moreI will definitely come back to this restaurant the next time I’m in the area. I have Celiac and a corn allergy, so my dietary restrictions often dictate where we eat. That can be really stressful when dining out with friends, because I want everyone else to have good food, too. Well, Ol’Days exceeded expectations. Everyone’s meal was delicious, with lots of interesting/creative plating. I had the salmon for an entree, which was cooked to perfection. My husband loved his burger. The kids’ meals were really fun—healthy breakfast items with creative plating.
It’s small, but super cute. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We had dinner, but it would be awesome for brunch or lunch.
I look for places with menus labeled gluten free, which this one has. They also make everything fresh there, and the ingredients are healthy and unprocessed. The only difficult part for me with food allergies was that the servers didn’t speak much English, and I didn’t know how to ask about ingredients in Spanish. It was a little risky, but I did not...
