This place may be one of my favorite happy hours right now! First, a daily happy hour from 4-7 pm, as in yes, even on weekends! Second, you tell me how many happy hours you have found in Brickell on the weekends, much less a happy hour you actually want to go for.
The entrance is certainly the most creative one I've walked through, with a replica of a torii (a temple gate) surrounding the staircase up. It was kind of hard to find, despite my putting in the correct address in an Uber. My friend and I had to walk around the block and past Barsecco a couple times before being able to find it. I couldn't even find it and it took a worker in the back of a building, asking if I was looking for the restaurant, and he pointed me towards the entrance. Once you find it, though, it is a treat to be inside. The ceilings are high, and there are cherry blossom replicas decorating the booth ledges to give it a cute Japanese feel.
The cocktails are $7.95 each during happy hour and are well crafted. I had a Passion Fruit Martini which had plenty of fresh fruit flavor, without being overly sweet, as well as a Dragon Mule which is a Moscow Mule made with dragon fruit. The purple color of the dragon fruit made an ordinary fresh mule so delightful to drink. We sat at the bar and could see our drinks being carefully made, which explained the great quality of the drinks. The lychee martini was also incredibly great/strong, combining the candy sweetness of puréed lychee with the punch of vodka--- exactly what you want in one. They have sake, white and red wine, and beer for $6.95 during happy hour as well. Pretty amazing pricing for Brickell!
The food offerings do not disappoint either. Each happy hour food item is $7.95 and are satisfying to have. We had two orders of the sashimi chef selection, and it came with thick cuts of very fresh akami tuna, hamachi and salmon. We shared a 5 piece roll of the Hamachi Jalapeño which was also fresh and flavorful but not overly dressed, so I could taste the fleshy hamachi inside with the zesty micro greens on the outside. Salmon Nigiri is also offered for four pieces in a dish, and I'm glad we got two orders of them. The sushi rice amount was just right for nigiri, and the salmon was the perfect amount of flesh and fatty that I wanted about 20 more of them.
This was a great way to have some wonderful bites and drinks in the start of what turned into a night out in Brickell! I've already told friends about the drinks and menu items, and I'm already thinking about when to go back! You...

Came here for my brothers birthday at his request and upon arriving, well, it was a brilliant scene. The Japanese decor was amazing and so detailed. Loved the ambiance and was definitely feeling the vibe. I can see why everyone kept telling me to check this place out.
You can either use street parking or there is a garage across the street where you can park as well. It's a bit hidden down an alley but easy to locate by the impressive staircase at the entrance of the restaurant.
We met the hostess and we had a reservation so we sat down right away. We sat on the inside of the restaurant but they also do have a large patio section on the outside for those who prefer that. An absolute highlight are the cherry blossoms right in the middle across from the sushi bar. Definitely a site to see and only makes me want to go to Japan even more now!
We were a group of 6 so we had a little bit of everything because I eat with my eyes every single time and over order right in cue lol.
The favorites were: Crispy Truffle fried rice with Wagyu steak Hot truffle Nigiri Maguro Foie Smoked rocoto ceviche
All the plates are definitely shareable and this is a spot to come check out with friends and enjoy a couple of cocktails while enjoying some good grub.
My one issue was the service. Our server wasn't very attentive and kept coming back to the table to either ask us to repeat our order or tell us that he didn't know something was out in the kitchen. This shouldn't be happening at a restaurant like this. Servers get weeded and I get that but the service lacked in every aspect. The food and ambiance are what made my experience memorable. If they can nail this particular part next time I come around, then it would be a perfect experience.
Either way, I do recommend giving this spot a try, just maybe don't go on a...
Read moreI wouldn't go back to reviewing restaurants without saying that it has been hard enough to keep businesses open and employees working, that when I see a new business in town I know is an open support to our local economy and it should be given a chance before judging and destroying their effort to build a better Miami, for this Thank You! (5 stars)
When I arrived to this location the first thing I noticed is their beautiful entrance and the fact that is under the downtown metro mover and in an alley it gives you the feeling that you are entering in a Manhattan restaurant in a New York Summer.
The decoration is absolutely beautiful and ever detail is at the right spot, they even have sake barrels on top of the bar and they look amazing (sorry I forgot to take pictures of this)....
I tried many items, LOVED the tuna crispy rice it had a very well balance of crispiness LOL, and the tuna was fresh, I love the rolls and the crispy rice roll was amazing but what I really have to come back for and completely recommend is the Krab Salad BAO, it has been long since a restaurant in Miami is this generous when putting Crab to a plate, it was very juice with a mix of cucumber (I think ) and some very light sauce...YUMMY
By dessert time I was very full so I did not have any dessert but I heard from my table neighbors that the Moshi Ice cream was very good, I definitely will comeback for more BAO's some Moshi and of course sushi!
The cocktail picture is my beloved Manhattan, I just felt it was the right cocktail for...
